Bollocks.
So £40m for Sanchez, £30m for Lamela and Moura each, £25 for Son? Hardly Cardiff level of spending. Yes they spent nothing this year but that is partly due to being happy with what they have.

the wonderful short termism introduced by social media and pushed onto everyone. everyone can be the goat or a fraud for a day
Can't win everything... Short finals like this are difficult, I mean look at how many good teams United had and they only won 1 Champions League during that period (07/08). Is Ferguson a fraud?

He had Ronaldo so it didn't count.

From the 2014/15 transfer window (so 5 years worth), Spurs have recruited 5 players which have cost in excess of 20m

By comparison, Everton have had 10 players recruited whose transfer fee was in excess of 20 million in that period.

Others are :

Manchester City - 16
Manchester United - 14
Chelsea - 19
Liverpool - 13
Arsenal -8

I'm not sure why you keep bringing up my team. Why do you have to get so defensive about simple facts? Both teams spend money, to say otherwise is hilarious. Especially in comparison to Spurs opponent, who in the last 3 years have a net spend of -58m euros.

Because your facts have no basis to reality.

Yes Spurs have some money but we are spending less than many mid table teams in the premier league

But still spending a high amount of money... I dare say they will at the end of the season to replace Vertonghen and Toby. Again, it's not really correct to say they barely spend a cent when they have a decently high wage bill and spend high amounts on players. Yes they aren't City or PSG... but they aren't Cardiff City or Ajax. That was the point I made long ago that you got really defensive about and decided to try and bring my team into it for no reason than to be a child. You were doing so well at arguing the point until you decided to do that.

I can’t argue with Stupid

nah nothing unpredictable happens in cups.

so apparently the shot from behind that shows the ball hitting llorente's elbow/forearm first wasnt show to var. whether that changes anything who knows, but it seems a bit ridiculous to not have every available angle to officials, especially in games of this magnitude.

Do you know who is in charge of supplying the video evidence to the Referee, UEFA or employees at the stadium?

When they showed it on the replay at the time you could see the difference from the two angles, one looked like it came directly off his hip while the other looked like it brushed his arm first. Incredibly tight call even for VAR but the referee should have had all angles available but the suggestion is he didn’t.

not sure, i think it's the stadium?

i thought it definitely hit his arm, but i dont think it's enough to constitute a handball. if he had elbowed it, like thrust his elbow at it, then i'd say handball. but either it's accidental or he's very cleverly tucked his arm in just the right spot to avoid it pinging high off the hip.

Was just one of those things that could have gone either way, and luckily for us it went ours. Does show that even with VAR things are not conclusive. If VAR’s purpose is to stop “clear and obvious errors” then you’d argue the ref shouldn’t turn around the decision anyway - but then “clear and obvious error” is still subjective.

Perhaps the bigger problem of VAR for me is how it’s going to impede on the mass release of emotion when an important goal is scored. I mean my head was firmly planted in my hands when that 5th goal went in but watching it back, the celebration and outpouring of emotion by Pep, Sterling and the whole Stadium was a spectacle. Now, you have to think, the more VAR decisions we get the more these celebrations are going to become curbed. The first thought of fans and players is going to be VAR. it’s taking us out of the moment imo

Ederson is getting away with just how awful he was for 2 of the 4 goals we scored across the 2 legs.

Can only imagine the outrage if it was Lloris.
Personally think that Lloris could have done better on the 3rd and 4th goals for Man City. The Sterling one was straight back diagonally across goal at chest height and Lloris allowed it to go over him. Likewise with Agueros goal. Chest high but it escaped him at the near post being flat footed. Almost dives under it.

Crazy result for Spurs. Massive.

I think the winner comes from Liverpool/Barca. Would love Ajax to do it, but I think they're up against it.

I reckon Barca top Liverpool.

****ing spewing that both semis - which are on during the day in the US - I won't be able to watch properly as a fly out/be on a plane for the majority when they're on.

Don’t the handball rules change on June 1st that would rule out this sort of goal.

So as this stands it would of stood as his arm was tucked into his body?

We are going to see a lot of these goals that are bundled in off the chest, shoulders etc ruled out going forward. Strikers will have to put there hands above there heads if they are trying to bundle a ball through

What an insane game between Spurs and City. That's back to back years City have fallen in the QFs. Not good for Pep but he's still on track for the domestic treble which is a hell of an achievement.

With City out though, It's opened it right up. I feel if we can get by Barcelona theb we could get number 6. Spurs and Ajax are not much chop.

Barcelona will be a different story though. Excited though to play against the GOAT.

Oh and that's not a handball. His arm is tucked in to the front of his body. It's not in an unnatural position. Does it nick his elbow? Yeah it does but as I said his arm is tucked in and I mean where else can he put his arm other than where he had it.

Aguero is the master of the near post blast into the roof of the net. Normally I’d agree on that near post one but Aguero seems to do it to everyone from time to time.

The sterling one is a tough one to keep out from that close range. Made up for that saving a similar one early in the second half
