I would be the only yid on here advocating that we should be playing UCL football next season. Most want to be in UEL as 'we'll take it seriously'. With no evidence to back that up.

However, If the option was 5th and getting in because of Arsenal advancing to help co-efficient then I'd rather see them lose, which they did and if that scuppers UCL from 5th so be it.

I don't think my viewpoint is unreasonable, and there is no right or wrong, this is all subjective.
If we win out and get top 4 great. Lose the derby and then gift wrap them a title v City. Not so much. Having canvassed a few friends I know who follow us most can see both sides and preferences fall on both options. So don't think I am being unreasonable.

FWIW I don't think we deserve it, Ange has too few that contribute to his style and needs another 12-24 months of spending to get what is needed. Emery has got Villa into a European SF and has them 4th playing midweek. Deserve it more. And I don't think it'll matter anyway, the good record v city is borne from being hard to score against and hitting them on counter. Ange plays openly and will suit Pep's side.

Happen to know a few Gooners and I want them to win and gloat about it about as little as I want Carlton winning a flag a half my family doing the same..

As for the couch watcher perspective and what you're inferring. Explain 90% of the rivalry based banter and hijinks we see each matchday here. They either matter or they don't.

I don't hate Arsenal fwiw, have spoken a few times that their model is honourable and should be applauded. As should that of a lot of other clubs similarly. Spend within their means, don't whore themselves out to dirty oil money and have healthy usage of the academy.

I dislike clubs based on how they behave, including yours, most of the others are backed by oil money
