Losing to Spain isnt an issue. But you should be questioning a whole lot about the tournament and what direction England should be heading.
If losing to Spain isn't the issue then what is?

Can't see another manager doing better but I guess we'll see.

England always think they should win every major tournament. But historically there’s been better teams on paper than them almost every time.

The one time they are near the best on paper and it’s not a coincidence they’ve made two finals and a semi. They tend to finish where their ability is at but the British press are never gonna sell it that way.

Are you Southgate’s love child? Can’t see another manager doing better?

Think they've been poor. Dire in the group stage. Stumbled past Slovakia. Penalties against the Swiss and fortunate to get past Netherlands with a fortuitous VAR penalty.

Spain outplayed them big time. Anytime they've come up against quality they come unstuck.

Possible Ballon Dor winner?

Every now and then a footballer like him comes along and does stuff that largely goes unheralded because hes not a forward and doesn’t have the goals/assists to receive the accolades that some of his contemporaries do.

He’s everywhere Rodri, reminiscent of prime Makelele for example. Can be a third centre half, traditional DM, deep lying playmaker, pops up for a big goal now and then. Phenomenal.

Funny thing with people saying “all England need is a new manager” is that the new manager will still pick largely the same squad of players. Most of the big nations have good managers, so that manager would cancel out whichever manager the FA hire as their next manager.

But the new manager will obviously use them differently. Not sure on your logic here

It's the same problems. Kane starts despite Watkins being a better fit against a Spain that like to push up.with his forward runs.

Couldn't choose between Foden & Saka so he shoehorns both in. Walker - past it but seemingly guaranteed a game.

Surely better options at LB other than Trippier or Shaw.

Too much hoofing from Pickford. Shotgate should have imposed a play it short mantra unless Pickford under direct pressure with a forward closing him down.

So many issues.

I don't really think you can say Rodri is unheralded, he's constantly praised.

Shaw was just about their best player this morning.

There will certainly be a new manager now (just too much pressure on the FA to stick with Gareth), so time will tell I suppose.

Southgate OUT now trending on talksport radio.

Not a good morning for the english (and conversely a spectacular one for the spanish)
