**note to all umpires**

I hope all umpires enjoy the season and that all of us clubs show respect to our fluro friends. But as we approach round one please remember that the this game, this great game is about the players and us hard working club people who do the work to make suburban football happen, its not about you Umps, please leave your Razor Ray "me me me" attitudes at home.

Otherwise good luck to all teams and umpires

As for my lot, practice matches have been solid but we have never been troubled and i dont expect my lot to loose a single game for the season #CakeWalk

Agreed. Might mean so f the appointed umpires get their bums in gear and confirm their appointments too.

Congratulations to one and only Anthony Damen on joining the 600 game club tomorrow at Old Xavs v Old Trinity, with son Adrian in the field. Hoever there is a sad thing to say.

On Wednesday morning we all learned that Wayne Hinton who had just become a father again 10 weeks ago, lost his baby daughter and hence all umpires will wear black arm bands.

Now if only they could release the appointments earlier so you know your appointment prior to training, always good to compare matches and get the hot tips on parking etc at grounds you are unfamiliar with

Question from someone who knows littls re umpiring, when do our fluro mates get appointments?
 
Very good by HQ to have appointments again released on a Thursday night! Great leadership and work undertaken by upstairs for once. Makes rostering on officials that so much easier.

Amazing what can happen when the overlords get a new CEO and some fresh energized staff. I actually feel sorry for the previous staff they had zero chance

Notice in D1, only two of the games have Goal Umpires scheduled. Last week in one of the games, an early shot at goal saw the Central signal "all clear" to a vacant patch of grass behind the goals.

Dont worry otp. Plenty of those going around lower levels of VAFA too.

'Macca' is a much underrated field umpire who should have been appointed to many more 'A' grade grannies. Has always had a great rapport with players and never afraid to admit to the occasional wrong call. Which is why I've forgiven him for those of mine he missed, particularly those within scoring distance.:)

He has put an enormous amount back into the game through his mentoring of up-n-comers too.

Enjoy the day and well into the night.
