I know one guy personally who plays for Palm Beach Lions on the Gold Coast.
Zane Taylor a fast strong tall inside midfielder who can play KP defence if needed. Looks like a good chance of going top 20 next year.

Rumour has it they are changing the age cut off date for next years draft so hardly any of this years u/16s will be eligable. If any one can confirm this it would be very much appreciated.

Going on the old date - 30th April, the following would be eligable

Sidebottom - VC
Hooper - VC
Ziebell - VC
Hill - VM
Blease - VM
Hood - VM
Shiels - VM
Rayner - VM
Watts - WM

Does Lowden rate a mention? 205cm and still growing. Recovered from stress fractures. played Vic Country. Struggled with back injury. But must be looked at.
Pianto from Vic Country also. Playing midfield in Murray League seniors is not bad. hard, inside type.
Both these boys going to Caulfield Grammar next yr.

i know a 14 year old called Matson Lynch who is one of the fastest in Victoria (i think he is the fastest). He is an inside mid and reminds me of Judd. He is about 180cm and is very fit! He plays footy with the year tens. Their is a 15 year old called Dylan Conway and one who is nicknamed Macca (looks alot like reiwoldt)!

I have heard the age wont change.
Of these Guys

Sidebottom would be a good show , He's very light but is in the AIS program so should develop a bit of strength, He's one they may just take early because he has so much natural talent and sit on him while he develops ala xav ellis.Has all the tricks left or right big mark runs hard and kicks goals from any where. If he doesnt go 08 he will be very early next.Hard to see anyone with more ability

Hooper is probably to small but will frustrate a few because he gets the footy so much . He needs to use it better tho .He's dominated the junior footy so far so has jumped all the hoops .He will be a very good player in Tac this year and needs some one to take a punt on a little bloke.09 he may command more respect. He's a real head ache for the recruiters.

Ziebell .He'd have to be a chance. He's already playing senior footy in Ovens and murray a very strong league and dominating by all reports . Capt Vic country u/16 .Hes a natural strong forward but Vic country played him at half back due to a few injuries they had which is a waste of a natural forward . Great player in the APS and he's as tough as they come . If he gets a couple more inches on him hell be a very damaging player . AIS member so he will have an even greater presence this year with the extra work . School footy wont allow him to play much TAC which may hurt him . later pick 08 first round 09.

Hill. He's a big show to, tall bloke but an ordinary kick although at the u/16's carnival he kicked some great goals . Good strong mark and ok speed wise . He will be on a few radars already but will have to develop like most big blokes but at a young age he is going well for a big bloke .Possible 08 but they like to take big blokes later because they take so long to develop. I suppose it will depend on his development this year . He's in the AIS squad so should help .

Blease , Very quick outside player . like scully but probably hasnt quite the skills damaging with his run but wont give it off enough tho this can be fixed . If he gets a bit smarter and better with his kicking he'll be very dangerous. In the AIS so should come on really well he'll go if he devops like they want him to .

Hood , He's a bit small and light at the minute but he's super quick and great skills he's highly regarded and has played a few tac games all ready and did well .Depends on how he comes on this year a bit early to tell yet has all the attributes in terms of skill just needs a bit more size . he's pretty clever .09 for mine if he gets some meat on him .

Shiels , He's a good player and another that will know where he is after this year .Like them all needs that extra year to delevlop . Has played for metro in a very good side so no doubt he can do it .He'll be looked at closely this year and wont let them down .

Jonny Rayner . He had a very good u/16 carnival .Playing down back he played on some good players and matched them sidebottom etc. Again he's still very light on but if he can keep his speed and get a bit stronger he will be a great running player. He needs a good year in the tac and anything can happen .

Jack Watts , Hell go for sure . got it all as far as recruiters go tall atheletic good thinker good skills very good mark etc etc . hell go very early whether it's 08 or no 1 09. Has them all very excited . he missed a lot of footy last year but still made AIS . Interesting watched him and Zieble play against each other twice. At country champs and a school game very interesting tussles between a great athelete and a great competitor . Watts is no doubt a Huge star on the rise

lowden needs a lot of development he needs to learn to use his hieght. No doubt he's goot some great attributes just needs to maximise them .

Pianto will be good . Hes small but tough hell need a good year or 2 to develop his game . didnt get useed properly for mine at vic country but will be interesting how he goes at Tac this year he'll make his mark .

Both Vic Country players will be playing APS with some TAC Cup commitments and both doing year 11 in 2008.

The present age limit is difficult for boys who are eligible and still have year 12 to compete. Some one like Jack Ziebell will have finished year 12 but could still play another season TAC Cup.

I think the AFL should bring the date back to 31/12 and not put more pressure and distractions on the players, after they are also students.

This is actually the rumour I was refering to. I heard they are pushing it back to 31/12 next year. Anyone else heard anything?

I have heard they wont be changing it . I'd like to know why the change .
Is it the fact kids are doing yr 12?
Are they to immature as P Roos said ?
For mine 6 mths wont change much .

It's only changing it by 4 months which means 99% of all those players will finish year 12, and also mature with their footy, body and mind.

As I see it nothing, but an up side.

Will jack watts go early?

I played juniors with him. He won best and fairest I came fourth lol.

Spoke to him the other day he has got to be over 6-4.

WIll he go early?

Hood, seriously needs to start growing if he is any chance that is just reality these days, i agree with you on watts, ziebell and sidebottom. However i think Blease is a pretty damaging kick either side, (going from what i watched at the carnival) i didnt really understand what you were saying there? Shiels very good, just needs the leg speed to go with his endurance and smarts. Hooper finds so much of it yet again has the height issue. how many people went under 180 cm's this yr?

As in his actual kicking skills need to improve or he needs to improve his decision making with who he kicks to and at what time? I've seen Blease play a lot of footy and I would have said that kicking is one of his strengths, can kick some great on the run goals and can kick it quite a distance. His accuracy is very good to.

Is it definite that the age WONT be changing for the draft?

Jack Watts. Not brother of Fergus who played for Adelaide/St Kilda and was delisted at the end of this year?
