^^ too right. screw you Waters & Broughton. I spent way too much on my backline to start with this season, the first time I've ever done so.

I think it's cos teams are making a conscious effort to get it out of the backline quickly to counter this "fowardline pressure" craze, so there's less possessions to be had back there. That's my theory anyway.

Geez, didn't relise Sylvia (10% owned) and Mundy (2%) were so unique.

Wish the Seymour boy was a fwd/mid too...

This was the natural evolution.

As teams flooded more and more their opposition started to chip it around the halfback line looking for an easy way forward.

To counter this more pressure needed to be applied onto these halfbacks. This is now called the press and puts too much pressure on halfbacks to chip it around so they now want to move it forward quickly out of the opposition forward line taking less time to find that perfect option.

This of course means now backs aren't getting huge scores off cheapies. This is really hurting DT :(

Back to unique picks not happy I passed on Scotland. Was concerned about his age but has been one of those backs getting enough midfield time to score well.

Might have to start looking at guys like Rawlings that do push up the field a little bit in search of a touch.

Who are the top 10 'unique' DT players so far this year?

Imo it would be...

1. Fyfe

2. Shiels

3. Dustin Martin

4. Cotchin

5. N. Jones

6. R. Sloane

7. Nahas

8. Suckling

9. Rance

10. Stefen Martin

I've got 4 Richmond players in that group...shows how well they're going.

The only one out of that group I have in my team is Fyfe.

Thoughts?

I'd put Boak in there, doesn't get massive numbers but has constantly got between 90-105. Only owned by 2.5% of of teams. Little $$ at the start but shit happens

Yep, him and Hartlett have been good in Port's line-up.

Fyfe & Suckling aren't uniques any more. Especially Fyfe. Most teams have Fyfe now.

Surprised Mundy is such a unique (2%) I have him, is very consistant. Should be a top 10 mid this year if he keeps it up.

Ive had Stefan Martin from day dot and he has rewarded me in spades. Being a Melbourne supporter i want to see Jamar back, being a DT coach i dont. Hoping to get another two Jamarless weeks out of him and over 100 points in each, could in all honesty nearly straight swap him for Deledio by that time.

Martin's been similar to Kepler Bradley last year, and just like this year with Bradley, i wont be going anywhere near Martin at the price next year.;)

Excellent DT coaching with SMartin, Rude. :thumbsu: I thought about him before Rd 1 with Melbourne's lack of ruck back up/depth, thinking he would be the Dees Leigh Brown this year, but chose Batchelor over him because he was 50k cheaper.

I believe Redden got 8 tackles on the weekend. Even minus those 32 points, he still reached the ton! This guy will be the king of DT one day.

He had 0 touches at quarter time vs North, and about 4 or 5 at half time. Finished with a score of 119. Unbelievable DT'er

I have his running buddy Rockliff who before his weekend didn't have a score below 86.

Someone said pre-season that Rockliff was Swan-like in his numbers. Glad I got onto that.

Sandi going down will throw a couple of unique rucks, with most going a Sandi/Cox combo.

Keeping him may be ok for some with Petrie DPP, or Smiths current scores, or will a Goldstein/Mumford be traded in. I dare people to get Ryder, to share the pain with me.

All the kids on the bubble this week may throw off a few who may want to trade out Sandi. While its not nice seeing a player injured, it always does throw a cat amongst the pigeons and mix the teams up a bit, which is a positive.
