Really happy Balogun is heading to Monaco. The thought he might front up for Chelsea made me a little ill. And word is we have installed a 'significant' sell-on clause as well. Good business.

Glad Tierney is joining a Champions League team. Hope he has a satisfying season in La Liga. Shame he didn't quite fit into Arteta's system. Loved his contribution to our club.

What's left? Tavares, Pepe and Lokonga are in the news cycle at the moment. Holding, Cedric in the background. Can't see any of them remaining this time next week.

I read somewhere that Nottingham Forest were looking at Dier from Tottenham. If your looking to sign Dier, why wouldn't you go for Holding? Younger, more reliable (imo). Yet, very quiet on that front.

Here's hoping for a more straightforward game tonight. If nothing else, just to utilise the Trossards, Vieras and Nelsons off the bench.

Jesus back in the squad for tonight. Excellent news.

Approx €45m including add ons for Balogun. Very good transaction for Arsenal and I see him back in the PL in two years time. So that sell on clause could be fruitful.

Jesus in the squad!!!! Thought he was still 2/3 weeks away

Yes same, I thought it’d be a 4-6 week timeframe. Awesome to have him back though. Apparently he was in full training this week (contact etc). Whether he starts or not tonight is another thing, I reckon Nketiah retains his place for this one.

As an aside, this quote from Arteta really peaked my curiosity:

“Another thing we cannot control is when a player decides to leave, so we have to adapt.”

This Gabriel stuff has me nervous. The Saudi window closes two weeks after the European window. The extra time may be an advantage in trying to offload the likes of say Pepe, however if they’re still pushing hard and turning Gabriel’s head, yeah I’m a bit unsettled by that.

I also thought this summer we’d be able to manage a good sale for Tierney, the Newcastle stuff didn’t really materialise. Whilst there’ll be a loan fee and his wages covered for Tierney, I wonder if someone like ESR might be sold if a very sizeable offer comes in the next few days. Would still love to see him make it at Arsenal however.
