Great first 30 mins, super performances by Saliba. Thought White, Jesus and Partey also had very good games. Great place to get 3 points against a team that didn't lose to often at home last season.
Negatives
2nd half would have been nicer to control it more and win the ball back further up the pitch so we weren't under the pump as much as we were.
Thought Saka and Odegaard had below par games by their standards.

Good away win. Palace only dropped 4 games at home last season so definitely a tough place for teams to come.
Although that being said, I wasn't overly impressed by Palace. Their tactic seemed to be flop, flop, flop and look pleadingly for frees otherwise hit long balls to Zaha and hope he can solo the entire team.
I think White did a great job up against Zaha. Yeah he was a little exposed some times but he's playing against one of the best wingers in the league in a position he doesn't play often.
Saliba showed just what he can bring to the team. Monster. Has the potential to be as good as someone like kompany.
I do think we need to bring in another wide player as both Saka and Martinelli struggled to get in to the game after the first 20-30 mins.

Next trick is to get Big Bill (Saliba) to sign an extension. Just watch the usual vulture suspects start circling.
It’s a win-win. Either he signs and we have a potentially generational defender going forward, or we sell him for van Dijk money. This will be one player we will realise full value for.
No we won't, his contract is up next season I think.
June 2024 his contract expires, so its inside of 2 years now. Certainly won't be VVD level of fee, not with say 12 months left on his contract by the time next summer rolls around for example.
I think he will wait to see how integral he is to the team, which has certainly started off really well. He will get plenty of minutes, that's already begun. I feel there'll be enough there to at least get him signed on for at least one more contract, then from there much is dependant on how the team fares, challenging for trophies etc etc.

Contracted to 2024. Arsenal just paid £45m for a fringe player with twelve months left on his contract. if Saliba is available next summer, there will be a guaranteed bidding war. City would love him, and United spend £50m plus every summer on a CB, and I’m sure that trend will continue. PSG an option as well, they are very familiar with his work.
Arsenal can’t sell players because when we don‘t want them we freeze them out of the first team and kill their value. Saliba will play plenty because they will be desperate to convince him to stay. His value will only increase as the big clubs see operate in the big league.

Torreira finally is off the books, thats a transfer saga I’m glad has been finalised. Still more outgoings to be done, some will go down to the wire (Pepe for example).

Which leaves White and Zinchenko on the pine.
I believe that Zinchenko will be exposed by better wingers without us dominating the game like City do. Though against weaker sides that sit back I think he could be helpful in breaking them down.
It's such a good problem to have after seeing the likes if Luiz, Mustafi, Chambers and Sokratis running around for us.
