I still don't believe he will be sold to Chelsea. Surely not.

I'm still not that convinced he will leave Barca actually. But to end up at Chelsea? Wow.

You'd really need to question Barca if he was to leave. All that effort to bring him in, Xavi and Ineista on their last legs....

It is just madness that they would even consider letting him go. If he wants to come back to London then they should make whoever pay through the nose to get him.

Then again, both Spanish club's boards are as thick as pig shit anyway, so nothing really surprises me.

Aurier's Agent.

"There is no agreement with Arsenal or anyone else," Courbis told RMC.

"There have been discussions with Arsenal in the past, but it's been a while since there has been any talks.

"To tell you the truth, we are even talking to another English club, so there is really nothing to act upon."

It's honestly like Wenger deliberately trolls the fans.

Selling Podolski is a genuine possibility. If a decent offer comes I think Wenger will seriously consider it. Ozil is going nowhere, same with Cazorla who just signed an extension.

But one can dream ...

Szczesny
Aurier - Mertesacker - Koscielny - Gibbs
Martinez - Ramsey
Walcott - Cesc - Di Maria
Mandzukic

Kraft
Jenkinson - Williams - Vermaelen - Monreal
Arteta - Wilshere
Remy - Cazorla - Ox
Giroud

Yeah but it doesn't matter, they can sign anyone they want anyway.

I read an interesting theory on the Fabregas transfer saga the other day which if the facts of the scenario are in any way factual makes it a bit of fun.

The theory is that we have declared our non-interest as our buyback clause only comes into effect once Barcelona receives a concrete bid and is suggesting that Arsene is playing mindgames with Chelsea, getting them to submit formally an offer so we can then jump in and claim our buyback for 25mil (which then turns into 18mil with the money they still owe us).

I'm not saying I believe it but I did enjoy the moxie of it if it did eventuate.

I like it, he's being a campaigner mourinho. He seems to leave his most childish behaviour for Arsenal. Us winning silverware and them diddly squat has ramped it up. " how do I upset Arsenal , they are under my skin, I know, I'll get their golden boy"This scenario is not as far fetched as some think, Arsenal just stringing the dickhead mourinho along.

Hope this is true. He must be quite annoyed that we ended up with silverware and they had nothing to show for last season. Wenger really did handle that whole 'specialist in failure' crap with absolute class.

Even if he never plays for us again will make a tidy profit re-selling him.

I haven't seen much of him in la liga, does anyone think he can be as good back in the PL?

It's hard to say really.

He always had the talent (i don't know if you can remember back to when he played for us or not) but probably lacked the maturity to take the chances he was given in the league. To be fair though they were always substitute appearances towards the end of the game.

He seems to have put it together in Spain.

IMO totally worth the put at the cost, as long as he is not the only forward signing.

So, at this stage, what are we confident about? Our needs are pretty well documented and agreed upon: RB, DM, Striker, Support GK, possibly LW.

RB: Is it fair to say Aurier's likely?
DM: Despite all the names bandied about, I have no idea.
Striker: I guess Remy, at that price, is a strong chance. Vela's obviously likely.
GK: Same as DM.
LW: If we do indeed get Vela back, is that his role?

We need a striker who Giroud can be back up to. Not the other way around, which is what concerns me with taking the Vela or Remy option.

Wenger played Vela as a winger when he was first with us so maybe he'll try again.

In an ideal world we'd take Vela and Remy AND another wide player/striker.

Crazy i know

I wish all of our talks about Vela were about letting Sociedad keep him in order to obtain Griezmann at a lower price. If Vela's truly worth around 20m Euros, we should be able to negotiate 10m off the price of Griezmann without trouble, and at least Griezmann would be starting 11 worthy.

Most of my memories of Vela were performing really well in CC/FA Cup games against minions, then being played as a sub in the PL/UCL and not making all that much of an impact. Wasn't shattered when we lost him.

If he has actually improved as a player then will welcome him back with open arms, could just be that Spain suits him though.

Vela was too easily pushed off the ball during his time at Arsenal. Seems the Spanish game suits him better. His numbers last season are very strong indeed but not sure what role we would have in mind for him.
