View attachment 562511 I love this team. The challenges we have faced this year, to lose gaff, nic and shep and to dominate a prelim like that is just insane. The crowd today was electric as well.

Oh and the vfl tipping just topped off the great win
what were they tipping- the tankers half time score?

Don't want to be negative Nancy, but don't get too far ahead of yourselves.

Watching the replay after being at the game.

Melbourne were putrid and s*at the bed.
Stage fright
Fumbly all the time
Bad decision making
We torched them on the turnover

Still, a hell of a lot to like.

More importantly how about Matty Pridis in the crowd!

Like holly crap he's dyed his locks jet black.

Only recognised him due to his wife almost.

Suppose He's not chasing Browlow votes anymore.:D

I was not sure he was happy or thinking what if!

Well done WC. I’m shattered in my boys efforts today but frankly you smashed us right from the first bounce and absolutely deserve to be at the G next week. You were brilliant today, well done. Hopefully our time will come soon :(

Whoever picked up Ryan is an absolute genius. Blokes a genuine star.

Please smash the flogpies next week!!
Best of luck with air fairs

I'd like to give thanks and a personal mention to

GO **** YOURSELVES

One more game

i love you all

happy sheedtember y'all!

Vardcett was massive against Gawn in general, and during stoppages our mids knew exactly where it was going even when Gawn hit it to advantage.

FLAT TRACK BULLIES EH?? EHHHHHH?????!~
Isn’t it ironic that of the 4 teams that were left, all of them were flat track bullies APART from the one that has been labelled by the media.. realistically Collingwood have no chance if we play like we did today, just need to back it up and try to do it once more.

They did that because we put so much pressure on. I’ve honestly only ever seen us tackle that manically in a handful of other games. Geelong game from a few years ago comes to mind. We smashed them at their own game and wore them down with ours. Also the added pressure of being the media’s fairytale, almost expecting Collingwood to go down the same path after the inevitable ****fest this week. It’s claimed Richmond and Melbourne, Pies are next. While we just quietly and calmly go about our business, not giving a ****.

Only negative was seeing the 3 lads at the end who are going to miss out due to injury/suspension. My heart goes out to all 3, who have contributed massively throughout the season to the team getting to this point.

The rest was all positive - that was a simply magnificent performance. Go Eags!

Amazing, powerful win. If Collingwood impressed people last night, they must be blown away by that effort. I'm posting a really quick excerpt from our review at the Mongrel Punt. If you like it, the link to the site is in my sig. I am not allowed to post the link in the thread... sigh...

Anyway, terrific win.

Looking at this game, one man loomed large as a potential problem for the Eagles, and that man was Max Gawn. I didn’t expect Lycett and Vardy to win their contest with the big Demon, but what I did expect was for them to make a contest and at least force Gawn to work for his possessions.

Well, maybe my expectations should have been a little higher. Not only did Lycett and Vardy contest with Gawn; I’d give them the win. The Mongrel is a big fan of the little things, and that is an area where Gawn usually excels, but today, it was Lycett’s tackling, Vardy’s harassing, and both Eagles’ willingness to run to space, or back into a contest to counter Gawn’s presence that made a huge difference.

Holy shit!

Cheers for your awesome and honest insight all year, you’ve been a breath of balanced fresh air brah.

I was there and the silence was so awkward in that first half. No goals kicked by Melbourne so not a whole lot to cheer about. Kinda felt for their supporters though because you could just see the Premiership hope draining from their faces and disappointment that they are very familiar with re-appearing.

"His was an impenetrable darkness. I looked at him as you peer down at a man who is lying at the bottom of a precipice where the sun never shines. But I had not much time to give him, because I was helping the engine-driver to take to pieces the leaky cylinders, to straighten a bent connecting-rod, and in other such matters. I lived in an infernal mess of rust, filings, nuts, bolts, spanners, hammers, ratchet-drills--things I abominate, because I don't get on with them. I tended the little forge we fortunately had aboard; I toiled wearily in a wretched scrap-heap--unless I had the shakes too bad to stand.

"One evening coming in with a candle I was startled to hear him say a little tremulously, `I am lying here in the dark waiting for death.' The light was within a foot of his eyes. I forced myself to murmur, `Oh, nonsense!' and stood over him as if transfixed.

"Anything approaching the change that came over his features I have never seen before, and hope never to see again. Oh, I wasn't touched. I was fascinated. It was as though a veil had been rent. I saw on that ivory face the expression of sombre pride, of ruthless power, of craven terror--of an intense and hopeless despair. Did he live his life again in every detail of desire, temptation, and surrender during that supreme moment of complete knowledge? He cried in a whisper at some image, at some vision--he cried out twice, a cry that was no more than a breath:

"`The horror! The horror!'

We are the heart of darkness. We didn't just break their hearts, we took their souls today as well.
