The comments about the characters was on point, you'd have to agree the original actors were written into their very specific roles. The movie worked because it was written for that cast.

I honestly can't think of any female comedians who have made me laugh other than Joan Rivers perhaps, and maybe a few that have been on Seinfeld but that wasn't their written material, although I think even if it was an all new male cast it would still be shit because it's currently the era of shitty remakes/reboots. I mean I just found out they brought back Full House for Christ's sake - they can't think of anything else?

It's one thing to do a remake of an old property. The world can tolerate the Dukes of Hazzards and Beverly Hillbillies movies that nobody asked for.

But Ghostbusters fans have been waiting/craving/begging for another film for the last quarter of a century. And when we're finally served something, it's this shit.
