If a person has taxable income of $100,000 in Australia, their effective income tax rate is about 23%, up to 25% with Medicare Levy. There is no way it nearly doubles for everyone at this level due to indirect taxes.

No LGBT are being denied access to healthcare (unless you're talking specifically about gender transition programs for children - which is a different issue).
