It’s gonna be a demoralizing year anyway, so might as well keep the high numbers and let players earn them to progress.Get them into some decent flipping numbers hate seeing 40s out there it’s demoralizing

I like all of that except Maurice in 17.2, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 - Vacant
6 - Sam Banks
7 - Steely Green
11 - Kaleb Smith
16 - James Trezise
17 - Maurice Rioli Jr
24 - Ben Miller
26 - Jacob Bauer
29 - Seth Campbell
34 - Jacob Blight
36 - Pick 1 - it was good enough for the GOAT then it's good enough for our first pick.
38 - Campbell Gray
Leaves 41, 43, 44, 46, 48, 49 & 50 for the rest of the draftees.
Give them all a year to earn a better number. If they're as good as we hope, then the 7 vacant numbers can be theirs
With the delisting as of Cumberland & Coulthard, the list of vacant numbers is at a level I have never seen before.
2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 16, 17, 24, 26, 29, 34, 38, 50.
Not sure many of the boys in high numbers have earned a lower number. Possibly Campbell & Le Flau. I’m sure a few will be rewarded though.
Surely that right hook earned him under 10(rnds)lol sonsie hasnt earned anything under 69
And one that trumps them all: Jack Dyer.17 - Previously used by our captains and Rioli family name
I don't think I'd recover is Sonsie was given 10 and Banks 11.Tresize - 36 —> 26
Lalor —> 36
MRJ - 10 —> 17
Blight - 51 —>34
Gray - 52 —> 38
Bauer - 43 —> 24
Green - 48 —> 29
Smith - 49 —> 16
Banks - 41 —> 11
Sonsie - 40 —> 10
Leaves 40, 41, 43, 48 & 49 for draftees
I think our captains wore 17 because of captain blood. Cotchin broke the tradition. And one that trumps them all: Jack Dyer.
They did. I didn't like the idea that much and was very happy when Cotch broke with tradition.I think our captains wore 17 because of captain blood. Cotchin broke the tradition.
Sorry but not correct. Wayne Campbell wore 17 in 2004. It just didn't look right. They did. I didn't like the idea that much and was very happy when Cotch broke with tradition.
By the way, I'm pretty sure the tradition only started with Kane Johnson.
It did and it was bs.They did. I didn't like the idea that much and was very happy when Cotch broke with tradition.

Ah, yes. I thought about that but didn't think it started with him.Sorry but not correct. Wayne Campbell wore 17 in 2004. It just didn't look right.
I think so, yes.Only started after Jack Dyer passed away didn’t it?

AgreeJust move on with the numbers stuff ‘resting them for 12-36 months’
The time is now for the new group to shape the club
Give
Lawlor #4 - he wants it and will di the jumper proud
Smillie #9 - he wants it and will show the afl world he is a new breed of on baller/ forward
Armstrong #12
Faull - gets the toughest number ( whatever that is)
Trainor #2
Hotton gets #11
not bad except Gibcus has 18...Ok I'd go:
#2 = Gibcus
#4 = Lalor
#6 = McCauliffe
#7 = Green
#8 = Faull
#9 = Smillie
#11 = Campbell
#12 = Armstrong
#16 = Banks
#18 = Trainor
#24 = Bauer
#26 = Miller
#29 = Hotton
