I just hope we don’t treat these numbers like they are high numbers. Dropping 16 for 4 would be a disgrace to the 16 which is a good number. Lalor should keep it for his career. That’s the only thing that worries me. They have given middle range numbers some of which have real significance and I just hope they don’t just go giving the lower ones out in a year to these same players. They should just keep these numbers and make them their own. I get that they want to put 4, 8 and 9 on ice. I’m fine with that

I really do hope none of our players read bigfooty, from the player bashing to the unbelievably high expectations for certain players, it would not be good for any of them haha. Given they quite likely don’t read it people are fine to be excited about the future though, if they were reading though then like RT said we are putting way too much pressure on them.

I think that’s part of my confusion

22 and 16 are good numbers and aren’t jumpers that you would really see a player get a promotion from (to my eyes those a the numbers that are 30+ generally

It would be a stupid sideways step to have Lalor or Smil get promoted to better numbers when these kids are the ones the club is banking on being household names in the future and what we will be marketing the club around

They should of just been given 4, 9,10 in the first place

Even the fact that Lalor got a bigger number over smil is another inconsistency with how the club have approached this

Even number 10 being put on ice seems dumb because MrJ literally had it for the past 2 years but now because of Sheds we don’t want to use it

Yet Rioli Jr was given it two years ago when he is at the same stage as Banks and Seth are now who apparently don’t deserve jumper upgrades

Lalor doesn't deserve number 4. Hasn't played a game. Greatest player ever that led the most successful era in history.

That number should be retired for awhile.
