Can we stop talking about StKevins plz.

Yep - happy to.

If he doesn't go overseas travelling, Nick Holland will be playing with Old Scotch next season.

In return he's guaranteed articles at my old firm - from a partner who's a Cardinal through & through.

. . . I was more talking about how every player to leave the AFL (Malloy, McKee etc) or big name VAFA players (Gertsman), and it seems that most of them end up at Xavs, who clearly tap Brian Speaking's phone in there at VAFA HQ.

Molloy, McKee, Gerstman - none of these ended up at Xavs.

So is the Xavs' list is chockers with players with kids on scholarships at Xavier, Burke and Kostka Halls? You are deluded, sport!

Thanks for the backup Snake. Some people just don't get sarcasm.

"A record 57 players turned out for the first night of pre-Xmas training at Xavier last night, with a few new faces and a few old ones and a few surprises".

The above quote from the Old Xavs website is crap. I have it from a Xavs player that there were only 15-20 to that and every subsequent session.

I hear that coach Richardson's first drill was skills.

On the first run after the premiership, he said and I quote, "We need to work on our skills, they were .......house last year".Obviously he aims high!

On the Nick Holland rumour, I heard there was no way he was going to Scotch and that if he were to play in the VAFA it would be for Uni Blues, as he is good mates with John Kanis.

Scotch seem to be the quitest movers this summer, maybe the Nick Holland thing is only hope as a replacement for Gerstman?

Ah, the joys of summer speculation. Some of these posers don't get resolved until April. The Sorrento salt water is a powerful thing.

Interesting thought. The word I got from the powers that be at Scotch was that they have been very active. Apparently have been speaking to Woewodin for weeks in case he didn't get picked up. When he was passed up earlier today he went straight down to Scotch for a physical. Unfortunately for both parties, during the physical it was discovered that Woey is a massive bogan who has kids with names like Taj and a butt ugly bogan wife named Deanne. Word is that the Scotchies told him he wasn't a good fit for the club and that he might be better taking himself to a more bogan tolerant club like Bernards.

Lance Picione has told club officials at Keilor Hill that he will play at OE's next season and will be down to meet the coaches tonight.

Justin Blumfield and Rick Olarenshaw are also talking about playing for thier old school side.

Unfortunately Troy West couldn't committ for season 2006 due to coaching obligations at Willy.

Wow! This is an exclusive! Apparently Picioane has also agreed to suit up for big $$$$ at another club.

And Troy West is now coaching at Willy instead of Port Melbourne.

Yep, mistake on my behalf in that Troy West will be coaching at Port in 2006 and not Willy but where he is coaching is irrelevant.

OEG are still confident that they will sign Lance Picioane in the next week or so.

Let's just wait until OEG and OI line up in the first practise match to see who plays with whom, or not!

Judging by some of the names bandied about, you might have to wait until after the first praccy game before they hit the park!!

hey im 18 years old, played in an AGSV premiership wif Assumption College this year n i was just wondering wat wood be the best Amateurs club to play for ive been approached by De La Salle n Ivanhoe Assumption, is there any other sides that are good for young fellas? let me no

Go and play and De La young man. Tell' em Hornet sent you.

Alternatatively, you could play for St Kevins. Tell 'em Brian Speaking sent you, that'd go down well.

On that note, was anyone else shocked that St Kevins was one of the top performing schools in the state for Year 12 results? I always thought they were duds in that regard. Caulfield Grammar, which spawned such acedemic heavyweights as Scribe2, Knight Rider and Nick Jewell, is now the official academic dunce of the APS. Perhaps they have got to the stage where EVERY single person is on an athletics scholarship as the ring ins were never too flash in that regard...

only problem for me with those two clubs is the distance because i live in kilmore, once i get my Ps it shoodnt really matter. i was training with coburg tigers but i dont have the desire to play VFL at this stage. the De La coach rang me last week. wat is the speed of amatuers like Scribe? im an outside midfileder and foward wif a fair bit of leg speed.

You could play at Old Essendon. Fair bit closer to Kilmore than De La.

Clearly the Marists don't teach spelling any more.
