REP footy back on July 15 against the Perth footy league in Melbourne and will be in Perth in 24.
Jase will let us know the venue , i'm sure he'll push for Sandy or Boss James
The South Australians wouldn't be too happy with the VAFA. Takes the rivalry between Vic and SA to another level.

The VAFA has announced the VAFA v WA game will be at Elsternwick Park.
As a divisional club I'm not 'that' interested. I would prefer at this point in time to spend the $80-$100k on increasing salary for umpires, fast tracking some of the strategy options, etc. Even put to building more infrastructure at EP ..... Again it's a bit of a decision that supports the top end from the VAFA.

And I was named in a state squad - it was good - but our competition need to look at other priorities for the next year or two that are all encompassing of our entire competition IMHO

If the VAFA wants to play rep footy again, why not have matches against either Tasmania and AFL NSW/ACT, not SA or WA.

This is how the rep program for 2023 would've been like:

VAFA Senior/Premier C-Division 4 v Tasmania
VAFA Under 18/19 Men's; Women's v AFL NSW/ACT

The VAFA v Tasmania games would be in Melbourne, while AFL NSW/ACT will play host to the VAFA in Sydney, perhaps as a curtain raiser to a Sydney Swans home game at the SCG, during the King's Birthday long weekend in June.

Couldn't agree more, and by the likes on your post, the REAL people who run the VAFA concur :)

Seeing how late the VAFA put in the Division 1 fixture on their website indicate they might have to redo the Premier C draw again, because of Old Mentonians likely departure from the men's VAFA competition for the time being. So is Premier C going to have 9 teams, and how many home & away games will there be for the year-16 or 18?

16 its not hard , unless they only try to pay seniors

Clearly not just field umpires on a first name basis.
Some sensitive video of steel like shepherding passed to selectors in paper bags went on eh

Just been going through the 2006 VAFA Annual Report, and reading the Umpire Operations Report by Brian Goodman, he listed some stats from umpire recruiting from 2002-06 which makes interesting reading, in light of current umpire numbers:

2002-90 registered umpires to fill 116 appointments (Too many one-umpire games)
2003-98 umpires to fill 115 appointments (A lot of one-umpire games)
2004-103 umpires to fill 120 appointments (A lot more one umpire games)
2005-129 umpires to fill 120 appointments (2 field umpires in most games throughout the season)
2006-135 umpires to fill 118 appointments (2 field umpires in most games throughout the season)

Don't think the VAFA would get that many umpires like they did in 2006 to control not just Senior, Reserve, Under 18/19 and Thirds/Club 18 but also Women's football.
Wow
So interesting

Did you get a kick that game Chump?

In light of the shambles that we saw at Elsternwick Park on Premier B Grand Final Day last year, did the VAFA in hindsight might've made a mistake by not leaving EP and transfer VAFA HQ to Visy Park/Princes Park Carlton or Trevor Barker Oval, Sandringham, when they had the opportunity to do so after 2006?

In the 2006 VAFA Annual Report, the then VAFA President Nick Bourke, said despite Elsternwick Park having some inadequacies, the VAFA Board decided that Sportscover Arena had enough plusses to warrant its retention (at the time) as the 'Home of the VAFA'.
