Early days of the points there were Suburban Clubs selecting 21 players to keep under the limit. Don't think it happens so much now.

FWIW points back under, nothing to see here…..

Yep, appears overnight one of their players from the team sheet has suddenly dropped 2 points, which now sees the total at 45/45. Same has changed on their team sheet from round 11 v SBMT which has also been changed overnight.

Will be interesting to see what comes of it all…

I think it's a loophole that may have been exploited and will be quickly plugged.
from what Ive been told is player on 4 points listed as emergency kicked 1 or 2 goals for Beaumaris last Saturday and they beat St Bernards by a point!
How is it that any club can list a 4 point player as an emergency and he plays. The VAFA must investigate!
A fine or loss of 4 points (at a minimum) must be given to Beaumaris!

From what I hear, the club had already been talking to VAFA about this and they were advised the players points would be updated by VAFA but weren’t. Hence the VAFA have now updated the player to be 2 points.

Are you saying that there will be no repercussions for going over the cap??
No, I'm saying that if being listed as "emergency" doesn't add points to the team tally, it is a loophole that will probably be addressed going forward.

And a couple of posts above mention how it was changed and is now kosher and they were never above the limit in real terms.

How can this happen when every player point value/score is vetted by the VAFA ?

While good luck to all players chosen to wear either the Big V of the VAFA or the Black Swan of the Perth/WA Amateur Football League, let's hope we don't have a Tony Hall-type situation where the player does his or her knee and goes out for an extended period of time, costing his/her club big time and putting the future of representative/interstate games in jeopardy.

you seem like a real glass half empty kind of unit!

Do you have nothing better to do than to write this tripe?
I could say the same to you nuffie. Jase is Bigfooty legend and you set up an account to have ago at him.

Do yourself a favour and either contribute something worth discussing or trundle back to the TH.

We played on Melb Uni oval 2 Sundays ago, it is unfit to play sport on, makes EP on GF day last year look like Wembley Stadium. Blue Green algae is growing in some of the craters full of water. It should be shut down. Worthwhile enough for you?

SKOB weren't the first to do it and they won't be the last. I can fondly remember a game between Blues and Collegians in 2013 where the ground had almost zero blades of grass and was at least a foot and a half under water.

Read the room.

Jase is off limits to all.

It’s in the BF Bylaws.

Stick to criticising ovals, as that is something worth knowing.

Beaumaris player points from the weekends game.
22 names = 47/45 points.
#18 (4 pointer) listed as an emergency, has not had his points added to the total /45
The 43/45 total points only reflects 21 players.

Appears the same thing has occurred the previous week when Beaumaris played SBMT.

47/45 the last two weeks.

It all obviously slips through the cracks at VAFA because they are under the 45 points only because the player listed as the emergency does not have his points included in the total which tip them over.

Many leagues mandate that you must name a full team of 22 for the senior team to avoid crap like this happening.

Hey Maxy, Im working with a state grade cricketer and really enjoying the banter of how all grounds with turf wickets are a disaster ATM. He is mega pissed off with all footy teams for the way they leave their grounds in disrepair by end of footy season.

Not just the ammos grounds, said that Doncaster footy oval is great but pitch is rabble! Told him I umpire on Scotch and its been atrocious for last 2 years!

This time next year peeps will be complaining that grounds are too hard and we need rain!

I played at Como and you have 2 turf wickets to contend with. Shot for goal from 50 in the mud!
