Happy to accept fwiwFWIW new vafa president creating a big footy account and the Herald Sun doing a write up on Div1-Div4 recruits, what other nuggets does 2024 have in store? Bedford as the new mod?
Let's look at this virus situation a different way. A more simplistic way.
In WA the number of active cases has dropped from 297 cases a week ago to 157 yesterday. SA currently has 89 and Victoria just over 100. On most days, the number of new cases is being dwarfed by the number of people who have fully recovered.
If we get to zero active cases and it remains that way over a specified period, it means that life can return to normal within state borders. Here in WA, we have an advantage as we cannot cross the border and it is proving to be of great benefit.
Just think, with zero active cases in your state you can have shops open again, you can return to work, you can have family get togethers again, you can go camping in the country again and you can also have adult and junior sport back again with minimal (if any) restrictions imposed.
People should be striving to ensure that their state reaches the target of ZERO active cases as quickly as possible by simply doing the right thing for a few more weeks. Grassroots sport will then be possible in a coronavirus case-free environment.
#TargetZero
Zero cases will need to happen for weeks on end, not a few days for it to be a game changer.
Doing the right thing is the key as you say.
Zero cases is the target and then probably 2-3 weeks at zero will change things significantly.
Most states are seeing a progressive drop in the number of active cases. I don't think it is a longshot that some states will be at zero by the start of June, given where we are on the curve at present.
It all comes down to doing the right thing. 3-4 more weeks like this will speed things up noticeably.
Well, it was you and others who made the call that schools helping old boys clubs ‘doesn’t happen’. Nothing by way of support.People here are claiming VAFA clubs with private school links (old boys) receive money from the school. In response I’m saying that’s not correct, and invite those making the claims to back it up with evidence/examples.
For example:
“St Ormonds College paid the sum of $10,000 to St Ormonds Old Boys Football Club on 30/4/2019 and it’s receipted in the club bank account and provided for in the EOY financials/P&L.”
No one here has produced something to that effect. Hence - when I say it doesn’t occur, I invite those who disagree to prove me wrong.
You seem to be having a one way conversation.Well, it was you and others who made the call that schools helping old boys clubs ‘doesn’t happen’. Nothing by way of support.
I’ve referred to the entity set-up to assist a school financially and with fund raising which helped the old boys with their contribution to the magnificent facilities at ‘King’. Quite distinct from Carol and Cameron helping out cos their kids are players at a given club.
Like you I haven’t been close to the scene for some time but I recall two schools allowing the old boys to use their playing fields during the Xmas/New Year vacation for pre season training. Didn’t extend to the change rooms which is understandable.
Then there’s the club that was in very deep doo-doos not so long ago where the school helped with financial and fundraising advice.
There was a time when schools were reluctant for their students to play in the old boys teams. Now they encourage it.
The schools that have a well developed and close working relationship are the ones that dwell in Premier division. And those that fluctuate rebound quickly.
So is the Gunn , but too many dickheads out and about on it this weekend. You seem to be having a one way conversation.

https://www.heraldsun.com.au/leader...xQQiy1q_kJkTjNkKGBZNKzLwLA1DyhTVnXxJO6eDpvsJUI've heard that the metro leagues have discussed the possibility of starting the season at some point in July.
It was a shit article from someone no one has ever heard from , it says AAP . 3 months to late July! . If dickheads taking dogs to parks and others standing together waiting for a coffee stay apart we might have a chancehttps://www.heraldsun.com.au/leader...xQQiy1q_kJkTjNkKGBZNKzLwLA1DyhTVnXxJO6eDpvsJU
Apologies if you can't open as those grubs at News Corp have paywalled local footy articles but the gist is that the six metro league’s met last week with a plan you have a nine-game season starting in June. June is very optimistic but at least they are looking at options. Some country comps looking at starting even earlier.
I reckon if by 31 May they don’t have a genuine start date in mind then just call the season and be done with it.

Never said schools don’t permit clubs to use their training facilities. Totally different to actual cash flowing from school to club.Well, it was you and others who made the call that schools helping old boys clubs ‘doesn’t happen’. Nothing by way of support.

Why , the truth hurtsNever said schools don’t permit clubs to use their training facilities. Totally different to actual cash flowing from school to club.
Once again, that was the original query.
You seem to infer that some non-financial assistance or a third party entity which provides money both to the school and the club is equivalent to money going to club from school. It doesn’t, and no one here has demonstrated otherwise.
Time to let it go.
Think you’ll find a poster did reference a school not allowing an old boys club to use their new facilities as evidence there was no cooperation between schools and old boys clubs. Merely pointing out there is.Never said schools don’t permit clubs to use their training facilities. Totally different to actual cash flowing from school to club.

Shit story from some unknown journo on AAP. This might flatten the curve on clubs, local and country that are killing comps

Just a thought.
If you were suspended in late rounds of 2019 and you are set to miss weeks in 2020. Assuming we play a half season, should the suspensions be cut in half as the suspensions are twice as severe in 2020.
Secondly should all suspensions be waived if we don't play in 2020?

Yep July 12th. My mate is a coach and he got a email about a return.I've heard that the metro leagues have discussed the possibility of starting the season at some point in July.
I said that a few weeks ago.Yep July 12th. My mate is a coach and he got a email about a return.
Eg Simon Buckley got 2 weeks in the Prelim , never been reported in his whole career including AFL , challenged it and got 3 , that should go back to 2 and that's fair.Just a thought.
