I think their grounds have been inundated with water logging and issues from the grand prix period.
They were poorly built when the GP hit and Ajax was the worst with movement as was built like a few others on a tip .
Early days the GP restored the ovals pretty good , but now don't give a stuff , the same as Parks Vic .
Also clubs are paying more for their fields and Pavilions that what any local council.

Far end of Oval 20 is hands down the most dangerous patch of ground in Victoria after the Grand Prix and Parks Victoria continue to stick their head in the sand

I see the finals venues have been announced.

HQ
Sandy
Box Hill
Coburg
Bill Lawry Oval Northcote
Whitefriars
Garvey
Dairy Bell

Basically only 1 change - with Point Gellibrand out this year.

Always found Bill Lawry to be rather pokey for finals but there ya go.
The Garvey is looking a treat at the moment too 👌

No surprise given how dry the winter has been.
Both Greensborough and Lower Plenty were forced to move off their ground at different times this year, and other local clubs asked to limit training during the week at different stages. It's been wet enough.

The Garvey is a credit to the maintenance fellas at Parade College. They do a rippa job.

Apart from the finals venues, the other interesting piece to watch out for is the admission prices to watch the finals at the venues mentioned above.

Got more seating than majority of VAFA grounds 🤷‍♂️
It's a local school ground (at best), but what the low divisions usually get served up early in finals.

Surface was very good last year during finals, so that was a plus for all teams who played on it.

Food was ok, parking in lower car park a 5 min walk to outer wing. Rooms (large but old) and seating other side. I ont make it break the game, but let's face it ..... it's not Elsternwick or Sandringham 😊

Chump 🏆

As a club who've played Whitefriars as much as anyone else in the past few years, good surface, large rooms, the only issue is parking is a decent distance from the ground if you're not a match official.

Best ground in the VAFA, but be prepared to get under the posts a lot.

Plus you’ll be fine with parking, can park right beside the ground.

Best in the VAFA??? While a little off broadway, I'll take La Trobe in D3 as having the ideal surface, amenities for supporters and an accessible canteen.

Absolute delight to experience that ground for the first time this year.

Can vouch for this. Shame it's a hike for anyone not in the northern suburbs. Surface and facilities comfortably better than whitefriars
