Re Old Mentonians, let’s say, conservatively 75% of their old players come back to the club a lot of those players would not like to be playing D3 footy because of the drop in level from C. Note some of those who went to clubs where they had mates may be happy to end their careers with their new club. If they felt uncertainty of the OM restart being successful there would have to be a lot of convincing. Maybe D1 or D2 is the viable alternative not D3. A hard task for OM and a hard decision for the VAFA to offer a viable alternative. Two of their players came to Glen Eira and they are definitely not D1 to D3 fodder.

D1 is a hand in glove fit.

After winning 3 senior games Preston really shouldn't be in D1. Allows 2 up/1 down from D1 to D2.

From there D2 get 2 up/0 down and then you amalgamate D3/D4.

You haven't thought it through - Eley Park v Preston and all the others - slaughter of the club

Well considering that Preston would be dropping from D1 to D2 Eley Park wouldn't be playing them.

Also it's unsustainable to have 6 team divisions. Actually, forget unsustainable, downright stupid. What would you propose as an alternative?

D3 runners up is the favourite in the D2 GF this week

Only promote the premier for the 2024 season.

Have a 14 round season with a top 4.

An extended 3 week block after the first 7 rounds. So players and administrators can get away.

Once you get to C Grade make it a 10 team competition and 18 rounds.

This is all well and good but rules are rules. Rebuild the club from the ground up from the bottom division, it's not the rest of the VAFA's fault they went under.
