Happy to accept fwiwFWIW new vafa president creating a big footy account and the Herald Sun doing a write up on Div1-Div4 recruits, what other nuggets does 2024 have in store? Bedford as the new mod?

Yep. Not like the ATO is going to be interested in a benefactor using some of his businesses' cash to pay players in some way shape or form. Just like the suburban 'salary cap' is a laugh for the same reasonYou'd have to be very sloppy to be busted by the VAFA on these matters. Just sayin!
I'd say that's most likely the case.So if Old Mentonians do drop out of the VAFA for 2023, will there be a re-draw of the Premier C fixture, with teams that was going to play against the Panthers now being given a bye?
So 5 weeks off !I reckon it will be 16 games and 2 byes in an 18 round season.
That's not good for C Section, nor the competition.So 5 weeks off !
Would there be any REAL issue if C Section was either anSo 5 weeks off !
What if players have already booked travel plans based on the released draw.Would there be any REAL issue if C Section was either an
A) 16 round season with only 2 byes
Or
B) 16 round season with 4 byes
Apart from a small financial decrease, that could be offset by the VAFA reducing affiliation fees for C grade clubs slightly this year, what are the 'real' issues that people see or have been discussing with their players?
Chump
Can't happen because D2 Would be changed and so on down - Just bad luck. D2 clubs already locked in some social events based on published draw etc. Didn't C Grade have 20 games last year so got an extra home game $$$$ so 16 in 2023 will even out.Hmmm. Is it time for the VAFA to bite the bullet? One D1 team up to C section, which would leave 33 teams across D1-D4.
Then make it:
D1 = 10 teams
D2 = 10 teams
D3/4 combined = 13 teams - play all of the other 12 teams once, then six against teams of roughly equal ranking (as of pre-season). That's 18 games, no Div 4, but would seem better than playing three times against the other 5 teams in Div 4, as it is now.
Just a thought. Can adjust next season if teams join or drop out of the VAFA
Didn't you post that last night !When will the VAFA announce a revised fixture for Premier C with one team that was due to face Old Mentonians be given a bye, or are they still waiting for confirmation from the Panthers that they have gone into recess for 2023 before releasing the new program of matches?
They have at our end
But extra costs for Coaches trainers ground costs etc !Can't happen because D2 Would be changed and so on down - Just bad luck. Well if Powerhouse took over AP, that would make 12 teams!I like it but wont happen.
Agree. It makes sense. Maybe that’s why the D3 and D4 fixture hasn’t been released … in regards to functions comment they can be rescheduled … it’s for the greater good if this happened.I like it but wont happen.

FWIW maybe a newly promoted team should be careful????You'd have to be very sloppy to be busted by the VAFA on these matters. Just sayin!
