One of the most significant club presidents of the modern era.

Don't think it is a stretch to say that if it was not for Costa, the Geelong Football Club may not not be around today.

The club was in serious debt when he took over, and together with Brian Cook and Bomber Thompson they transformed a previously underachieving club (in terms of premierships) into a modern day powerhouse..

My condolences to Costa's family, friends and the entire Geelong Footy Club community.

He leaves behind a very impressive legacy.

Geelong fans would be forever indebted to him.

Not only did he assist turning around the club on the field they've had dramatic improvements in the last 20 years at the Cattery.
Kardinia Park in particular would be challenging to recieve funding being a single tenant stadium but they've basically got a new stadium and one that makes the club the most profitable out of most teams in the league with it's stadium deal.
