Re: Jim Stynes Passes Away - Vale a champion/hero

RIP Jim Stynes, you held on so long but finally the pain is over. A true legend and inspiration to all, not only in Australia but around the world.

I think we all saw this day coming but hoped so fervently a bloke as good as Jimmy could fight that bloody disease :( knowing that it was a possibility doesn't soften the blow however and it was an absolute kick in the teeth waking up and hearing he'd passed on.

It's amazing that someone could affect so many lives, even without personally meeting alot of the people whose lives he changed. A lot of my friends were lucky enough to have Jim visit their schools and give a lecture, and the majority of them claim his talks changed their lives for the better, giving them hope in the future.

At this point words really are meaningless, Jim's actions throughout life are the ultimate tribute to such an amazing life, what more really could be said.

Vale Jim Stynes :thumbsu:, forever in our hearts.

Jim was the front runner for players like Marty Clarke, Tuhoy, Walsh etc etc to play and gave my club, the SMFC, a (the first Irish) premiership player in Tadgh Kennelly.

Who would have thought a skinny Irish boy could do, mean & love so much a completely different code in a completely different country!!

Absolute pioneer & champion.

RIP Jimmy.

RIP Jim Stynes.

Thoughts are with his family, friends and all involved with the Melbourne Football Club.

Very sad day.

:'(

Thank you Jimmy, for becoming President of the MFC and saving the club that I love from extinction when no one else thought that it was possible. Thank you for being so brave for so long - fronting up at games to watch your beloved Demons play less than 24 hours after brain surgery, on so many occasions, is nothing less than extraordinary. You are a true champion of our great game and such an inspiration on so many people in Australia and around the world. My thoughts go out to your wife and two children. You will be greatly missed... :(
