Offside offences using VAR should be judged using the body. Outstretched arms and feet shouldn’t come into it. Still offside in the above instance.
That still won't help. Then you'll just get ones where people start debating 'where the leg starts'.

Would love to see semi automated offsides try and contend with old mate Mr McCreig.

Data fed into the offside calculation is absolute. Distance of all players to goal line. Distance of ball to goal line. Exact moment when ball is played (sensor in ball). This system doesn't use a replay to decide offside at all. This is all that is needed to determine offside with certainty. Human intervention only needed when deciding active / inactive / interfering with play etc.

This system is as accurate as goal line tech.

In the example you provide it was absolutely correct as semi auto offside had the distance to the goal line of all defenders and the attacking player. There's no might have been with this system - the attacking player was closer to the goal line than 1 or less opposition players.

I'm starting to think you are not a real person who can give responses to discussion questions - but you some kind of primitive bot.

Can't see the video in the UK but had a discussion with my lad. He said that handling outside the box is an automatic red. I thought a yellow and only a red if he was denying a goal scoring opportunity.

Did they clarify that?

Yeah they said what you said.

How old is your lad? Must be great that he's followed your love of City!

He's 14. He loves but gets way too emotional about it. I'm much more chilled (seen us crap, seen us good, a bad result isn't the end of the world etc).

Just need to get him to more games, he's mainly an armchair viewer at the moment.

I’ve seen it more times than I’ve wanted to, but failing to see Burn get his foot “in front” at any time. The VAR audio doesn’t help their cause either, it’s called no penalty within 0.4 seconds of being looked at and called no penalty before they could even look at all the angles in that time.

Of course a former ref will go on TV and support his fellow referees, speaking with a former Liverpool player. No biased judgement there at all.

It wasn’t called and nothing can be done now, but I am frothing for the league moving forward where there will be such a free flowing game with less fouls that can be given for a tackle from behind with no realistic attempt to play the ball 😍

Is there anyone who isn’t an Everton fan who thinks that’s a bad decision?
I was with a Newcastle fan mate in the pub watching it and I thought it was a Pen first time seeing it but then decided it wasn't a pen.
