Think Hurn may have lost a few Meters off his kicking but it's his inability to pull the trigger that's been his main issue this year. Imo you take responsibility away from him and he will return to be a very good contributer.
Happy to keep him on but he's been slipping. Fully agree about him not pulling the trigger. **** me when him and butler are in the team it's outrageously slow ball movement.

Depends how much money he wants, we need some sort of tall defensive depth because we've got no young guys coming through
Hmmmm I disagree, he's an elephant in the room that no matter what some people at the club and MC will think he should be in the team. Obviously Barrass should be playing. Barrass and Schoey or Barrass, Schoey and McGovern. Personally I'm not sold on Gov as a forward yet. We could pick up a 21 year old defender in a state league and a youngen.

I haven't minded him the last couple of weeks, don't think he's done much wrong but if he's expecting to make $500K a year we should let him go. If he's cheap enough let him sit in the WAFL as injury cover.

He doesn't offer anything when on attack. I significantly prefer Schofield to play that "lock down" role in defence. Schoey & Mackenzie isn't a good combo. If Barrass comes on, drops a keg or two and learns how to use his body one on one, we could go Barrass & McGovern and go smaller with Schoey in the 2s and develop one too. Schoey could also force a Sheppard/Hurn out as he's quite flexible.

I kind of want to develop McGovern as a forward still. Keep Schofield and Barrass down back, Mackenzie as the backup/third tall depending on matchups. Not really that fussed if Mackenzie stays or leaves though, maybe he'll get a big contract elsewhere, what's the deal with compensation for losing a FA these days?

Unsure, but I feel compo is one of those things to help the Vic clubs.

schoey sucks 1v1 and is poor over his head. He relies heavily on other around him to have a good game.

Emac's kicking the last fortnight has been pretty good. Swear to god i saw him rocking on to his left a few times and hitting up a targets and that was a hal mark of him in 2014.

McGovern's kicking at goal is way too hit and miss. Could have had 5 against Melbourne and won us the game.

Hit and miss, yes you could say that of all our forwards though, JK, Cripps, Darling and co, the Gov is little different. Personally, l like him forward, and on ball, and think it bears persisting with.

As much as I want NN to be able to rcuk 80% and have Gov offer a chopout - it does take away from his explosiveness.

So we do need a guy who can actually ruck (or at least compete).

For mine - Lycett and NN are the combo - Vardy goes to the WAFL

As good as Vardy has played at time - he is still well short of some of Lycett's best games when he was the main ruck.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Vardy gone by the Port game

That gap is getting smaller as each round passes.

Vardy is getting better and better by the week.

Love his hate for being beaten and have loved his efforts thus far when the game has been on the line... that called character ... that called team spirt .

Vardy has a lot more " James Hunt " about the way he plays the game and thats a seriously undervalued commodity, when evaluating who is on our list and what we are short on.

He bulked up and was boss for us in 15. Half a backman's defence comes from the midfield. MAckenzie is done. Get rid of your sentiment for him. At no point in time do I want the ball in his hands.

Vardy's done more than a serviceable job now to keep the job for the rest of the year, other than a couple less disposals and hit outs his numbers this year are exactly comparable to NicNats career numbers, AND he's played in every game. Would be an interesting prospect if Lycett decided to say stuff it and wanted to be traded back home to SA.

Compared to Lycett? Gurlfren you trippin! Lycett is the biggest campaigner on our list.

We can carry 7 talls if we put some pace into the midfield and Nelson, Cole, Mutimer, Venables can stand up and play some mid-rotations to chop out our main mids.

JJK (FF), Vardy (CHF), Darling (3rd), Naita, Lycett, Mcgov, Barrass.

But really in this format Darling plays as a medium anyway.
