Not sure it's a good idea to have Walker in front of a 95% collingwood fanbase at the MCG again.

Initially I wanted him dropped but now want him to stay in.

How will Walker overcome his fears without facing them head on? His finals performance is still one of the worst performances I've ever seen from a Freo player, maybe ever, genuinely awful.
 
Carr leaves Fremantles midfield, now in control of Ports and they are premiership fancies.
Ports midfield isn't the biggest, or the most experienced, beginning of the year Hinkley is on thin ice.
How is it impossible for Freo to see how other clubs improve by poaching quality people.
Nice guys come last, and do we just let them walk out the door without a counter offer?

Carr was going to take an offer from SA the second he got one. Kid with special needs and family over there. Especially with the port connection.

We've 'poached' JG and Boyd from teams in recent years. But the midfield is the area on the field where we need to get on top of more than anything else and we grab a guy who was a development coach at our club already, without considering any outside options, because he was good with the dogs midfield 7 years ago?

Because I liked the name Walyalup and more so what it stands for - politics aside I think a lot of places have dumb names named after people who had nothing to do with the origin of the place or in this case, simply named after a mate because the Governor of another place decided he could.

I then realised I had no idea who Fremantle was named after. Then looked him up and found out he was a rapist and was hardly present when the place he was named after was finding it’s feet. So he doesn’t really have much connection and he was a bit of a dirty campaigner. So yeah. That’s why I don’t like the name and also why I am keen on Walyalup as a name.

Fair enough - thanks for the explanation. I hope it doesn't change as there has been a lot of history in the place since and I grew up there.

If you went for names based on the origin of a place you would have to change the name of thousands of places in australia alone and even then we would need to figure out which originating tribe had it and was that tribe taken over by another etc.

Anyway - I don't mind it for a round or two, but would dislike it strongly if changed.
