Ryan is definitely exposed when he can't be the spare down back to intercept. He cant keep up with the faster players and he leaks goals.

I can't be bothered doing it myself but I'd like to see how many goals each of our defenders have conceded this season. Ryan's gotta be up there. Seems like he's really poor at shutting down his man

This times a million. I did play Rugby my whole life but the same logic applies anywhere - there's a goal-sense you just can't manufacture. Either you've got it or you don't.

Pav had it. Hell Ballantyne in form had it. We've got no one who absolutely stamps their authority in that area of the ground. You have to own it! Mongrel and beast it.

Maybe our recruiters will get the hint eventually.

Hahaha, it's a legitimate question brother. The situation becomes even more depressing, when you consider the fact that the AFL can "manufacture" a premier anytime it wants. Take Melbourne as exhibit "A". You're fighting against a corrupt league administration, unfair travel commitments and inept umpires. It really is an uphill battle!
 
Acres has some nerve looking for a multi year deal. If someone wants to give us pick 40 for him I’d chip in for his taxi to the airport myself. Noddy better be in for him next week.

Erasmus hasn’t been seen in months. Surely He deserves a game on the half forward flank ahead of some of the efforts we have seen in recent weeks. Wilson is another we need to find a spot for.

Mark Duffield said it best recently. There’s some players that need to be playing 9/10 or 10/10 football just to keep their place in the side.
I would have Colyer, acres, Banfield, Schultz, Hughes, Tucker in this bracket.

On the other hand, people like young, Brayshaw, Darcy, Serong, Cox etc will still play even if they give a 6/10 or 7/10 performance.
If Serong or Brayshaw have a 6/10 game by their standards, they will still be a net positive for the team.
However if Blake acres or Trav Colyer give us a 6/10 game by their standards, it’s almost certainly a net negative.

Two players came out this week and said we had a plan to beat Melbourne.
Then all I saw was everyone waiting until Melbourne’s defense was set up and kicking it to Travis Colyer.

Watch Luke Jackson sign a 14 year contract extension this week.

Gotta be injured. Has gone back into his shell so much.. last night he was getting pushed around by the Melbourne midfeilders like he was a ****ing sack it potatoes 😭 no aggression..couldn't even jump at the ball..

We always look for excuses but I think he is just not playing very well. He has been invisible which is strange considering he is a ruck and mostly playing where the ball and cameras are.

In the last couple of minutes of the Richmond game it was kicked to him inside fifty either a 1 on 1 or 1 on 2 and he didn't even contest it, I remember thinking wtf is wrong with this guy game on the line. Its been like that for most of the year apart from a few stand out moments and/or games.

Actually, you’ve just reminded me of my other ‘vent’ that I need to get out.

We are way too nice. Who is flying the flag when other teams dish it up physically to us? Schultz? Ryan? Anyone else? Tabs is the only big bloke who even engages in a bit of push and shove but all it does is get him off his game and leads to brain farts.

Yes, I remember thinking that if Petracca had all that to say to me, when I was 30 kg heavier and 20 cm taller, I'd be hitting him again. Where's the campaigner from Darcy?
