why do all people on this board think stringer is no good?
You do realise there's a difference between thinking he's had a reasonably poor season (which I do) and thinking he's no good?

Pumped he had a blinder today. Can't wait to watch it tomorrow on iview.

Damn good performance by the Doggies. Stringer tough & hard but superb, freakish skills when given the chance, he's on the way back! Honeychurch, a hell of a goer, no doubt will get the call up soon, is exactly what we need. Ayce and Tommy worked pretty well together and can see this tandem working together successfully for years to come. Hunter was Hunter, this kid has it all. Redpath showing again that it should have been him given the seniors nod.

Footscray VFL have picked very strong side, I am very keen to hear so called experts on BF, who
Whinge and disagree with opinion's, on game plan, Maple, and just about everything else. Strange really they never see a game, big chance for them today, have a good look boy's.
My tip Port by 6 goals, I believe Bulldogs have team to win, but will they?????

Nothing wrong with the coach or gameplan today...

Couple of questions for you all, on todays form, Hunter, Honeychurch, Stringer and Redpath all deserve a run in the seniors, but who comes out to give them a run?
I'd leave Jake in the VFL to build confidence and fitness, get him used to the big midfield role he'll most definitely play in the future.
Gia, Stevens and Williams are the ones I can see leaving the side eventually to let these other boys in.

Was impressed by Redpath as well, he's a smart player who reads the play well and seems to know when to lead up to the wings and when to stay inside 50.
Campbell and Cordy duo was also very hand.

Also was impressed by Maple's three quarter time message - deep inside 50's to one on ones, don't over-commit at the ground contests, have blokes crumbing, shut down the corridor defensively. Don't overuse the dinky handball. Exactly what our AFL team needs to do!!

Agreed ... who are our future and who are our depth players?

Future:
Stringer
Hunter
Honeychurch
Campbell

Now depth (like them all, but not as sold as the above who I see potentially being 150 game + players):
Williams
Gia
Stevens
Tutt

I'm hammered already so whatevs. The development of these players is like training race horses. They're not all 2yrolds up for the Golden Slipper and you can f*** a lot them up trying to get there that soon. Campbell etc are like cup horses. They won't physically/mentally develop overnight no matter how much you want them to. They're ready when they're ready. But you can see glimpses of what these players will become and then you've got to nurture them till they're ready.
Stringer, Hunter, Campbell, Prudden, Bonts, McCrae, Hrovat, Roughie, Honey, Libba etc will be great players for us when they develop and when they're ready. Macca knows about development. We'll be good and when his coaching gig is up he should train horses.

We'll need to rotate Bontempelli and Hrovat out for a rest you'd think and we probably shouldn't burn out Macrae. Maybe 7 games of rest between the three of them that can be given 7 to Hunter
Gia might not play every game, Tutt might not play every game. That's 6 or 7 games right there that we can give to Honeychurch
Redpath could play instead of Williams
Not sure where Stringer fits in though.

Stringer plays the same role that Stevens is playing at the moment. Half forward with occasional runs in the middle.
