The thing is, home and away advantages probably do hurt your chances in the long run. They don't make you good enough to win finals and they result in you getting weaker drafts picks than you should. They're probably disadvantaged in the long run by being advantaged in the home and away.

Thing is, Geelong now take full advantage of the MCG GF. Most likely against a non vic opponent.
Problem for the conspiracy theorists though is that the non vic sides should never have let this happened.
The second ranked team playing at home against an interstate opponent should have beaten the Cats tonight.
Port have shown that just because you have HGA, nothing gets handed to you. But some seem to expect that.
Using Port to prove anything is fraught with danger. It's like using St Kilda or Gold Coast or Freo.
