Really enjoying Captain Toad Treasure Tracker on the Wii-U. I know a lot of you dorks are into the big boy stuff, but the cartoony ones generally do it for me.

Preaching to the choir with me mate. Looking forward to Yoshi's Wooly World too.

Want to get it, but all signs point to it not being able to run on my laptop :( Only a modest video card, but makes up for it in RAM (8 Gig).

Still expecting GTA V to run on it though.

In the meantime, I'm mastering a few toons on SWTOR. Started a Sith Warrior for my pure evil fixation and to try have a go at being a tank.

Really creating some nice quality stuff with my artiface as well :)

Just returned to swtor, really enjoying it. The dark side stories are much better tho. Been leveling a sith warrior aswell.

Just looked at Jedi knight trilogy and the huge Star Wars pack gonna get soon me thinks

Start with the X-Wing and Tie Fighter re-releases on Good Old Games.

They'll put hair on your chest.

The State of the Art graphics (in the day) on JK Dark Forces 2 will be a shock to the system! Be warned :D

Jedi Outcast was always my favourite. Jedi Academy was an amazing playing experience, but some of the writing was about as good as the Prequel trilogy...

'Oh! Hello Chewbacca who I only just heard of and met. Here is why I am here and with who.....'

I mean really.... I'm suppose to be a damn Jedi and I disclose information to some wookie (granted, a very famous and probably trust worthy one.... but still.... )

Dark forces was the bomb, but it will be very dated. Jedi knight series was also very fun to play. Agree with Academy, added some great new things to the series game play wise, but it was like going from the original trilogy to the new trilogy, just didnt feel right story/writing wise.

I thought the story of Jedi Academy was strong overall. I'm a massive nerd when it comes to the expanded Star Wars Lore, so I loved the connection with Marka Ragnos. But it just didn't feel right that you weren't Kyle Katarn. He was a very solid character, even in Mysteries of the Sith. His role in Jedi Academy probably saved it for me as he maintained.

Meanwhile the Jaden Korr character I don't feel was organic at all and didn't do as well to connect with the player. He was just this really flukey Jedi with no real emotion from the get go, and when it did it was painfully obvious and forced. Unlike in Jedi Outcast where the emotion that drives Kyle Katarn to becoming a Jedi again was very real and I felt could connect with the player.

Dark Forces was the game that made me get s student loan for a computer. I may have used it for student work but I played a lot of Dark Forces, Civ 2 and Tie Fighter on that old 486.

Just working my way through Super Mario World 3D. Mario, still the greatest character ever.

Don't know about "greatest character" but certainly the protagonist in the greatest game franchise ever.

Delightful game.

That's what I meant to say :oops::$

Whilst he has a limited vocabulary, he still uses it well.

I still remember fondly in one of the Mario Karts when he comes 2nd or 3rd, he threatens other players - "Mario get you next time!!"

The Wii-U is an incredible console, but it's suffered majorly by delaying its best titles. Hope it picks up.

I can't wait for Splatoon. Looks like pure fun.

I am on the fence with a Wii U. By all accounts it is a great little console with a now excellent library of games, but with a limited gaming budget (money and time) I can't justify it to myself. I've never been a Nintendo gamer (PC and then later the three XBoxes). But I am so close.

Kids and wife are away. keep talking.

I'm seriously considering a Wii U too. It's hard to justify it at current prices when just a few months ago you could get a basic console for under $200 - not because I don't think it is worth it just because knowing that price was in it's recent history it's hard not to wait for another massive discount.

Yeah it's not the same as PC/Xbox/PS stuff ... obviously more cartoony generally, but the challenge in the games is very adult. If you've never been into Nintendo, you may not have been exposed to reasons why the console is worth time and money.

IMO, Wii-U is more than worth it for Mario Kart 8 alone, but in addition - New Super Mario Bros, Super Mario 3D, Captain Toad and pretty much all games made by Nintendo themselves are pretty much unmatched in terms of quality across any of the consoles. They're pretty much 10/10 games - absolutely no bugs, great difficulty and simultaneously the most enjoyable and frustrating (in a good way) gaming I've ever done.

The multiplayer is also truly unmatched - particularly with kids.

In addition, the replay value and completion challenges in all of the above games is quite incredible.

Yeah I am stoked I fluked that ludicrously good $179 bundle.

Yes they're tending to bundle and keep the $400 thing going ... I think if they sold it for $200 it'd start carving up ... the titles that have come out recently and that are coming out soon are pretty insane.
