Emma was a lovely, gregarious girl who had worked part time at the club on and off since the age of 16. She had recently been appointed assistant membership manager.
She had a seizure Tuesday night after netball and never regained consciousness. A beautiful girl and a huge loss to the club and the players, she was a lovely, lovely girl. :(

Not good when good people go too early . Hopefully she enjoyed today's game from up there

Had a match play at golf today that I couldn't get out of , got home about to turn the game on and visitor's turn up they have just left. open a nice bottle of 389 and finally get watch the game

Guys I think this was a tongue in the cheek comment, referring to the Bulldogs build up on Bontempelli being a once in a generation player. He is not saying he thinks he is, but reminding us of the Bulldogs quote on Bontempelli.
Oh OK:thumbsu:
I dont remember that quote from the Dogs which would explain my ignorance .
Nothing wrong with 1 in 4 post being stupid anyway. Im running on a 50% ratio myself :p

I think in 3-5 years time when we are contending again, people will refer to this day as a key point in our rebuild. The last two weeks have been so, so valuable to the club. Last week we were better than a finals contender but we learnt the hard way that it takes more than sheer effort to get across the line - you need to take your chances and execute well in front of goal. A hard fought, honourable loss followed by an inspiring come from behind victory against two teams in the top 8 is a seriously character-building fortnight for a young group. This was the game that Billings announced himself as a future star and someone who can have a huge say in the result of a match. And the day that Armo announced to the footy world that he's a genuine elite mid who will lead our midfield for the next 4-6 years. Steven played an outstanding game, Fisher was in vintage form and we wouldn't have won without Roo but it's the fact that every one of our young players contributed in a big way to our comeback that is so encouraging. Sinclair just keeps on playing good games, Lonie is going to be a special player and McKenzie bounced back so impressively from a shaky start where he made two errors which led to two shots on goal for the Dogs. Combine this with Acres and Goddard's outstanding VFL performance and it's a day which our recruiters and list management team would have absolutely loved.

I'm actually almost glad that we didn't get the 4 points last week. If we had two upset wins in a row then we'd get plenty of media praising St Kilda and potentially get sucked into the hype. Last week's loss and today's comeback builds character.

Obviously VERY pleased with the result - well done Saints. Don't want to try and downplay what was a great win, BUT.....really think the Dogs being down a rotation was a MASSIVE factor in the game. They could barely run in that last quarter. Once again, well done Saints, I honestly believed this year was going to be worse than last, but 2-4 after 6 Rounds (with 2 VERY near wins against GWS & Bombers), me thinks I was sorely mistaken. I've never been so happy to be wrong.

Boyd looked awesome early when he took that hanger from three deep, will be a serious player.
Not until he learns not to 'Cloke'

Cloke /kləʊk/ verb to miss a kick for goal from point blank range in AFL football
'Boyd Cloked that shot at goal'

The funny thing is, he's actually a very good kick for goal, probably kept us in the game with his misses, we were very lucky in the first quarter.

Great four quarter effort from Sam Fisher. Let's hope he plays on for a couple more years. His football brain is streets ahead the average player.
Sam gas surprised me with his level of endeavour and attack on the contest. Always knew he had it in him, but I just thought his body was going to prevent him from getting back to his best. Boy has he proved my instincts wrong. I hope he is around for many more years if he can stay in this sort of condition!

And Schnieder who had another very good game today. Actually playing a very good season on even past output. He was working really hard today. You don't see what he brings watching on TV. Lonie too. He runs down every player with the ball and puts on so much pressure. He is a future superstar.
