Agree with a lot of the posters here, the excuses on the dogs board are pathetic - 22 v 22 out there simple. The team who wanted it more won on the day.
Thought it was disgraceful from our team to blow a lead like that but full credit to the saints who ran all over us. At least we know we are both on the right track, it could be much worse, we could barrack for carlton or Richmond congrats on the win. Enjoy it, its what footy is all about.

Don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but my favourite play of the game from Jack Billings wasn't any of the goals, but his pick up off the stoppage, movement through congestion and handpass to Armo, leading to a goal. He will become a midfielder, in time.

Emma Holmesby loss was felt acutely, for understandable reasons.
He just had one of those games, all forgiven
And to think Billings had 7 shots on goal so could have kicked 7. He is a special talent.

Guys I think this was a tongue in the cheek comment, referring to the Bulldogs build up on Bontempelli being a once in a generation player. He is not saying he thinks he is, but reminding us of the Bulldogs quote on Bontempelli.

Daughter of Russell, brother to Luke, (and another sister whose name I've forgotten) - works at the club. Passed away after an epileptic seizure led to a cardiac arrest. She was 28 and a lovely person by all accounts.

OMG, the Bontempelli hype has officially reached fever pitch. I have not seen people lose their marbles this much over a player since Judd. The difference is there was actually substance behind the extreme Judd hype. He won a Brownlow is his 3 year on a list. His first 2 years were absolutely out of control, he was picking up the ball in congestion and just sprinting away leaving 8 blokes in his dust.
Bontempelli has had a nice start to his career, has regularly shown he is capable of doing some special things. However, he has not dominated games of football consistently yet. In fact, he was not dominant enough to even win the Rising Star. People getting carried away because he is a good size. Should be a very good player, but once in a generation? That implies a standard that rivals Gary Ablett, Wayne Carey etc. Chances are slim at best he reaches that kind of level.

Emma was a lovely, gregarious girl who had worked part time at the club on and off since the age of 16. She had recently been appointed assistant membership manager.
She had a seizure Tuesday night after netball and never regained consciousness. A beautiful girl and a huge loss to the club and the players, she was a lovely, lovely girl.
Bruce's forward pressure is 3 times better than Boyd's as well. Once the ball hits the deck he is cactus.

Great four quarter effort from Sam Fisher. Let's hope he plays on for a couple more years. His football brain is streets ahead the average player.
