I've been approached about creating a petition as one way to show the AFL. For me at the moment, it's trying to figure out the wording that will cover what we really think regarding the AFL's and the AFLPA's handling of this since the guilty verdict. It needs to cover the public's disgust, but many people have different views on what that action should be that we want the AFL to do in order to maximised the number of signatures we get on it. Any one have ideas they want to suggest?
I would say get a wriggle on because I and quite a few others would be keen to sign your petition. I am sure there is an app for it.

While I am at it, why do Essendon et al get pinged for being drug cheats and the AFL starts busting a gut to change rules and introduce new ones to help out the poor dears to field a team. They took a gamble on cheating and stuffed-up monumentally but the good old AFL will always help out.

I would just like to make a suggestion that instead of booing (the dopers wont be there anyway), everybody should cheer Zaharakis as loud as possible every time he gets the ball. It will send the same message that booing jobe did, but the media wont be able to have a sook about how it is "unfair" and "not a good look"

Robbo apparently will be casted as the next James Bond. His weaponry consists of empty beer bottles in which he'll be turfing at his enemies with his Arnie like arm.. from all the slabs he's purchased at IGA over the yrs.. so an endless supply of stubbies which makes him a dangerous proposition.

would be awesome but i don't think the AFL would do it though . Even so i reckon the 2nd round match will be easily 70k anyways especially being Fri night and if the weather is good could be even more.
Tipping 80k+. The whole Treloar thing has fired up supporters on both sides. Will be a huge one I reckon.

What i find particularly amusing is how Dr Bruce Reid wrote a letter of concern but apparently it was lost in transit.

When i was in grade 2 i misplaced a piece i wrote about dinosaurs. But i re wrote it.

Dr Bruce Reid wrote a letter of concern about the the regime at Essendon.. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for arguments sake and say 'it was lost'.. how hard is it to re write it Dr? Or did you lose your memory.. have your index finger cut off.. or your voice box ripped out? Sonething of this magnitude and apparently the letter was lost and we're done with it? Lol spin doctor's greatest ever work.. musta taken em 1 minute to conjure up that magic.
He wrote it to Hamilton and Hird, put a copy on Hamilton's desk, never gave Hird a copy, and that was it. NEVER FOLLOWED IT UP! So much for his "concern".

so despite the fact the club and players have now been punished, and no one other than Reid is left out of the players and staff that were involved in 2012, you think the new playing group and coaching staff deserve the same treatment?
Australians are a forgiving lot
If the senior figures, Mr vanity and the players maned up and took responsibility instead of blaming everyone and anyone else. They wouldn't get that treatment

LOL...imagine how many Bigfooty posters would love to tie him to a chair, and use a knotted rope to belt him in the happy sack.....

It seems a bit off to boo a team of leftovers and top-ups who didn't do anything, but the fact they are representing Satan - I mean, EFC - means it will probably happen.
Edit: if they recruit Crowley I'll be definitely booing

Essendon CAS verdict: Banned Bombers meet and continue their fight

The shattered 34 past and present Essendon players at the centre of a drugs saga have met together for the first time since they were banned for a year - and have vowed to continue their fight.

They still believe they did nothing wrong, and were duped as part of the supplements program run by Stephen Dank - a program coach James Hird has again attempted to distance himself from.

When are these morons going to realise that, even if they did not take a banned substance, the fact that they did not inform ASADA of each and every injection contravenes the WADC and leaves the open to penalty?

When are these morons going to realise that whether they don't think they took a banned substance doesn't mean that they didn't, especially since the balance of probabilities suggest they did (as found be the CAS)?

FFS.

Eh, then you see Essendon supporters saying Hal is cash hungry. These guys got caught for cheating, they should be paying back all the unions money they pissed up the tree and not getting paid at all. Now because they got caught cheating, they want to be paid for it?

I'll leave you to get your jollies that way...

Here's a suggestion for the AFL/GILL instead of being apologists for the players.

How about a "Just say 'no' (to drugs)" round?

They have an opportunity to reinforce WADA'S message, instead they are expressing mis-placed sympathy with the players who offended.

If it was a defence to say "I don't really know what I took but was assured it was not banned" then the whole WADA world wide anti doping program would not work. There's a reason there is strict liability.

It doesn't matter how many times this sort of statement is made people just can't seem to get their head around it.
