What’s there biggest ever win in history?
WP have kicked 37:17 (239) twice (EF 1981, SF 1987) with the second one resulting in a winning margin of 210.

Edit - the game vs. EF had a winning margin of 178 and the next best was 161. So this one ranks 3rd for margin.

West Perth sneak over the line by 169. Nice.

West Perth 34.13 217 def. West Coast 7.6 48

The boys fought. That's all we could ask from them today. From best to worst, but not really...

Zane Trew: 20 disposals, 3 marks, 4 tackles, 6 i50s
Was very, very clean off the deck and fought well against all odds in the middle. Supplied a good number of inside 50s given the context of the game. Looked like he cared until the last second of the game. Changing my opinion of him week by week, well done young man.

Coby Burgiel: 20 disposals, 2 marks, 1 tackle, 2 i50s
Looks very classy, running off half back and has a great kicking style. The big question mark for me is his defensive game. I suspect he may end up more a genuine wingman than a defender because of this.

Harry Barnett: 6 disposals, 4 marks, 21 HOs, 1.0
Had a cracking second quarter but was quiet for most of the game. Still needs to add a lot of size to his frame but the talent is there for all to see. Clunked some good marks in that second term but will need more minutes in the legs before he can do it consistently.

Rhett Bazzo: 12 disposals, 8 marks, 3 tackles
Up against it today and struggled against wave after wave of Falcons attacks. Like a scene from a Halo game. Took some good marks and didn't stop trying. Maybe not as fit as I thought he was last week.

Tyrell Dewar: 6 disposals, 1 mark, 1.1
Isn't ready for WAFL league football, but still generated 3 scoring shots (one OOTF) for himself, which is pleasing. Several squibs and a lack of defensive pressure a bit of a blight on his game. Looks every bit a project player.

A special mention to Ethan Hansen, who I thought looked really good out there for us today at times. Jackson Nelson as well.

At least there's always Perth...

Even for former Eagles/AFL players to want to play for the Beagles there needs to be an extra incentive to play for a team that is expected to have very little success.
Like Jacko Nelson has a job at the club as well.

There's not much of an alternative. Only way the Beagles can do better is if the WAFL lets us recruit better top-ups.
Other options that have been thrown up such joining another league is not viable.
While an AFL reserves league is not being considered by the AFL. Probably would be cost related too.
I still prefer the players being spread across different WAFL teams.
Main issue that arose previously was lack of control of the positions that they play or players being assigned to the reserves team.
There was also a perceived benefit of all the players playing in the same team with the same/similar playing style of the AFL team. Not as useful when very players are available due to injury.
Other thing to consider is that our last flag was the year prior to the first year the WAFL Eagles came into the competition.

Best solution would have been to have a host club arrangement with Perth since we are both based at Lathlain, but they were too stubborn.

At least then we could have played the likes of Dewar, Baker and others who are really raw in the reserves or Colts. Freo get thar luxury with Peel.

What is the go with Baker? Not on the injury list and hasn't played WAFL

young Naitanui Academy product Jordyn Baker is set for game time in coming weeks following a disrupted pre-season and subsequent conditioning block he is close to completing

Wonder if the Perth option can be revisited now that Barra is the president?

It’s a win-win for both parties.
