I wouldn't be surprised if he went in the second round. Not to Freo though. We are too infatuated with Victorian boys, none of whom ever turn out to be of much value. I expect he'll end up at Brisbane with Black and Dalziell.

I'll give them Mayne. Blind Freddy(and myself) picked Palmer and Ibbo was an aberration from the past.
Hey?

Until the last year or two, the WA youngsters have not been (in general) up to par with the other states. Nonsense. Generally it's been our local boys that have bombed out.

If two guys are rated the same, you go the local boy, but you don't go local simply for the sake of going local. That worked wonders for Neesham didn't it?

i agree, even if you do pick up a vic and they do end up wanting to leave, atleast you normally get something back for them which should be better than what you paid for in the first place. although ironically the warnock thing is going on at the moment where the opposite might happen

Well Hinkley got 26 touches and kicked 2 goals 1. Dont know how he played though wasnt listed in the Worst.

That was a top effort by the worst. We had 4 players playing WAFL and they managed to report on 2 of them. How hard can it be? All they do is regurgitate the stats that anyone can find.

Spot on. And after that in terms of go-home-trade value, we are probably better considering SA players. There will always be a Vic team towards the bottom of the ladder potentially forcing a trade. If two guys are rated the same that is.

Conolly's going alright! Who needs Warnock!

Only kidding, but I wonder if we need to elevate Conolly if Warnock goes, or do we bank on getting Nat and that he's up to playing firsts in his first year?

I think we should look at elevating him regardless of Warnock. Give him something to work towards next year - maybe a game or two if he can continue his improvement. We are going to have a lot of free spaces on the list. If they think he's going to develop, elevate him and take a chance on another rookie.

Warnock would be a luxury on our list next season as he is an out and out No1 ruckman at the moment. Connelly at this stage of his career would, I imagine, be happy to complement Sandi if and when required. Consequently we should give him as much encouragement as possible. Elevation to the senior list would be a good start.

There is no way in hell that Warnock is a number 1 ruckman at this stage of his career, I remember there was a big following on here pre-season on how Sandi should be the number 2 for 2008, that would have worked out well.

If Connelly can have another year on the rookie list than it would be silly to upgrade him, especially when he will not get a look in next year. Very VERY raw.

Warnock is a No1 ruckman as opposed to being the No1 ruckman. He would naturally aspire to being both next season. This is not a possibility at Freo unless Sandi falls under a bus.

I was actually impressed with Connelly on Saturday, thought he moved real well and was obviously being played more in the ruck than the last time I saw him.

Smith - again, apologies Ripper, but they were the most unnoticable 17 possessions I have ever seen. Refused to go in hard for the ball, seems to wait back for someone else to get it. Now I know everyone can't be an in and under, that's not what I am talking about, you've got to go when it's your turn.

Hinkley epitomises Swans really, brilliant one minute and terrible the next, but he at least keeps running and having a go. Decision making was a bit off but I think that is more the way the game is played today, ie run and handball to get a teammate in trouble.

Kyanga kicks a ripper... followed up moments later by a ripper from Anthony. Would love to get them both!!

Is Peake playing??

Oh there he goes - giving away a free in front of goal...:rolleyes:

Fortunatley the Joondies don't capitalise...

oops - now they do... :(

Go Sharks!!!!!!!!!!!
