A poor performance by Pitt today. Just spectates too much, looks slow in mind and body even at WAFL level.

Perth and Peel are terrible teams, he should be standing out amongst those players.

Still bemuses me to think we picked him over Darling.

If you heard about what happened when Darling was being a scumbag you would not want him in the side. Thus we have Pitt. It is still VERY early on. So take a breath and give the young kid Pitt a chance to put on some weight and get used to the speed of the game. Remember that people were complaining about Mundy for years. Now he is a full on A grade midfielder.

If you heard stories of Palmer then we should never have drafted him. Ive heard many stories regarding Hill as well, but hey if they can play thats all that matters in the end. And Mundy isn't the greatest example to use in the argument. We could tell from day dot he had talent. Yet to see that at all in Pitt.

Darling was built like a man at age 16, was always going to have a head start compared to others in the draft, way, way to early.

Agree. Darling is a mile ahead in development at the moment. Lets see if the gap narrows in the next few years. He didn't appear to work very hard today though Pitt.

Yeah, Pitt was disappointing today, needs to work harder and get into the game more. Although he is still a rake so hopefully he'll come on after another preseason. But for a kid drafted on the back of his elite kicking he does turn it over a bit.

Didn't see the ressies game but you'd expect Bolly and Clinker to get more of the ball at that level as well.

Bad example to use - Mundy made an impact in the WAFL right from the get go. Was very good off half back for Subi and came into the league side and instantly impressed. Actually, what you said is wrong. Other than about 18 months Mundy's been very good and almost everyone on this site has supported him. Not sure what/who you're thinking of?

Leslie, I have heard nothing on Hill like you said. I challenge you to substantiate your accusation on Hill. Palmer likes to party, you will find that in a lot of young footballers. Let alone young men.

The accusations on Darling saw a potential top 2 pick drop to pick 26. Does that give you an indication on how serious the topic is? I hope so. Also if you think that just knowing how to play football is all that matters then you do not understand how clubs are run these days. Why else would the Eagles cut Cousins at the peak of his powers? Especially when all that is needed is talent.

Yeah, that stuff really wouldn't have been that big of a deal. There was other stuff, football based, that saw him drop. But do we really need to rehash this old topic yet again? It's a little tiring.

On topic, was interested to see Hinkley playing in the WAFL reserves. Not sure him playing for such an awful reserves team is really that helpful, surely him being the traveling emergency would have been more beneficial. Unless there is a specific player who will miss that we need someone taller like Roberton for.

Chris, the topic was Pitt Vs Darling as a draft pick after Pitt's ordinary form in the WAFL. Personally, I would have liked to have seen Hinkley get a run today. His form has not been outstanding in the WAFL but run is where we need to take it up to the Hawks. Glad to see Clarke getting a gig though. He has earned his spot.:D:thumbsu:

Anthony playing defence today for Subi? 8 poss to half time, no scores.

Whats happened to Robbo? Seems to be struggling this year like lots of our kids.

Roberton's had a bit of it. He's playing defence and most of the play is in the EP forward line.

Mellington seems to be trying hard and going ok.

Sheppard injured early and went off for about 15 minutes, came back on and is playing in the ruck and going ok. He's badly undersized for the ruck but he's winning a few hitouts. Should do more around the ground though.

Sounds like Buco is quiet?

Former Docker Brock O'Brien is turning it on again. Four goals two behinds in the first half of the derby. Still only about 22 yo. Wonder if anyone will bite.

7 poss for Bucovaz to half time.

Was thinking about the Roberton thing. Last year he was a bit player in what was a very well organised defence. With Tarrant, McPh, Groves, Hayden, Silvagni & of course duffield & Broughton he was surrounded by cool heads & or experience. He did his bit when it was his turn to go and he did some good link up running at times. This year due to the absence of several of those players he's been in the deep end a bit more and perhaps exposed. Still think he has plenty of potential. Apparently has a great attitude and work ethic.

Wasn't Hayden supposed to play reserves this week like Barlow? where at don't see him.

I was down Freo way today at around 11am and there were a few guys running laps and more laps. This included Roger Hayden and Bollenhagen and from a distance it looked like Barlow was with them. Some other guy was doing sprints with his shirt off which I'd guess was SNOS.
