Just had to say how fantastic Walker looked today. IN a poor team he was the shining light. He had poor delivery but was a gun. Took Mark of the year i was five meters away was special. kicked a goal from 60 into a cross wind, hands at ground level superb.

Taylor Walker, you are a gun.

Today re-inforced the Crows decision to leave him in the SANFL this year. He was not ready for AFL but has developed well in a hard team. That mark was a screamer but he did not do a lot today realistically. Delivery to the forwards was poor so perhaps he had excuses.
Next year will still be a developing year. Don't expect too much from him. Remember he is still very young.

Look, he wasnt outstanding by any stretch of the imagination, but 8 shots on goal, and (without seeing the stats) would probably be in their top 6 ball getters, the only Norwood player to take a mark inside 50 after quarter time i think, while playing in a side who got flogged by 70 points (which is flattering in itself).

Can still improve defensive pressure, but Sturt were all over Norwood.

I certainly wouldn't say he was poor today.

He was far from poor. Had 6 or 7 possessions in the first quarter, this was when the delivery was at its best and when the ball was actually going down there. He dropped away but that's because the delivery was absolutely appalling and we barely had any forward entries for about an hour. He kicked 3.4, very nearly had a fourth with a beautiful left foot snap but kick was almost too good as it did what a snap should do but it just bent back too much.

I think he would’ve finished with at least 15 possessions, took 5 or so marks and had nearly half of our scoring shots. When the ball was in his area he looked good, can be excused for drifting out as the ball didn't even get down to him.

With the likes of Walker, Dangerfield, Bock, Rutten, Griff, Maric, Tippett, VB, Knights, Thomson, Douglas, Porplyzia, McKay, Symes, Vince, Johncock and hopefully Trent H we do have the nucleus of quite a good team for the future. Our spine and rucks are coming along quite nicely. Just need some more 1st tier midfielders, depth and some genuine toughness.

Our main problem is we don't have enough quality in the age group 24-28. I would definately trade our pick 9 for Kerr. However, my mail is its play in Melbourne or he stays in Perth.

i'm assuming you mean Scotty Thompson and not assuming that we'll pick up Thomson during trade period.

Should have been put to CHF. I think he did at one stage and got a few possies, then they put in back in the square. I was a little confused.

I just love his ability to make the most of limited opportunities.

You get the feeling you get the ball near him in the forward 50 10 times a game he's usually going to come away with 6-7 goals:thumbsu:

With good delivery its a possiblity. He knows how to find space, and he knows how to kick a goal. Our young gun midfield + Walker could be a deadly combination.

He was fantastic today.

That 60m goal, that huge grab, that half volley pick up and how about the way he snaps off his left foot with complete ease? Not to mention it goes about 40 metres.

Absolute gun, cannot wait to see him in Crows colours next year

I can't wait to see this kid in Crows colours next year but I hope we provide him with some form of protection. He will definately be targeted.

You realise it's the AFL and not some Bush League right?

With the exception of the Powerpuff Girls teams aren't really in the habit of trying to knock heads off behind play these days.

But on the paps, sheesh they must have appointed Grave Danger as an assistant coach or something this year? Pathetic:thumbsdown:

Walker was very good today considering the delivery into the forward line...this kid is already one of our best forward options his natural talent is nothing short of amazing and he has to play 22 games for the Crows next year...He will be something special

Oh my god.
Every day I am just getting more and more excited!
I cannot wait till next year with the likes of Walker, Dangerfield and others.

As evidenced by the massive 2 reports and suspensions we had this year?

Whoever identified him for the scholarship deserves a bonus.

Could be one of the biggest steals ever.
Walker is James Fantasia's final legacy with the club. :)

I'd love to see the odds for (1) a Rising Star nomination for next year, and (2) to win the Rising Star.
I don't think I've ever seen a market for Rising Star nominations. Only the overall winner.
