Wallace's last game to be this week!

Its all over for Plough this weekend folks. He will coach he's last game for the club over in suby in he's 500th.

Say what you like about plough, he might not have brought us any success but would be nice to see the players lift to send him off with a win. Not sure who the caretaker will be but plough won't be there next week.

Does he depart win lose or draw after the Freo game? Or leave next week after the Dogs game

Sort of ironic quitting the Tiges after playing the Dogs who he walked out on. Maybe that would be too much for him and the stress of the media/Dogs supporters in the lead up. But that would see the Tiges have a week off to get the caretaker settled in. It’s an interesting conundrum.

I felt exactly the same after round 4 ... but the unsuing decay has changed my view .

I have seen nothing in the last 5 weeks to say he should go on ... thats the honest truth of it all .

I think you ... like me ... have been still desperately clinging onto the hope that this can still work for us and Terry out but it wont .

Cast your sharp intellect over the whole 5 year tenure and make your judgement Crum .

Massive Fail on so many levels
More of a hope that the board would shake the culture of being told what to do by players, fans and coterie groups and have the balls to make correct decisions instead of appeasing ones, than a hope Terry would work out.

But I agree (for different reasons) that in this case it would probably be a case of cutting off your nose to spite your face.

The reasons where I possibly disagree with you is that many of the problems from the last 5 years probably arose because the coach had too many fingers in too many pies. That is a structural problem within the club. Hopefully having Cameron to manage the list and a bigger recruiting department has addressed some of those issues. Even much of the development issues, except for giving blokes a go in the AFL which is the coach's responsibility, should be left to others. That's the structure we should now have, even if we haven't for most of the past. The coach should just have to concentrate on developing a winning game and getting the most out of his players. I admit there's been some problems there with Plough too.

I reckon he can coach and at the top of his game he could learn from his mistakes. But the reason I reckon its time for him to go is because he isn't at the top of his game any more. He's lost faith in himself and his own gameplan (and possibly in the players ability to execute it). That's probably more fatal to his coaching than any other flaw.

Hopefully now we do have all those support structures in place so the new guy can just come in and coach. I don't mind taking a step back while players adjust to a new coach and new style, but I'll ****en spew if someone walks in sprouting another 5 year plan!

Great post...however, I will disagree here...although I still have some hope Bling will take another step up and become a 4 quarter effective and damaging player that has big impacts on games, I can't see him being a controlling leader in the backline.
I think some of his best footy has been off half back. Tambling makes pretty good decisions once he has the ball in his hands and with players giving it too him all the time his confidence would grow pretty quick. I'm not saying he's going to be another Hodge but some blokes playing similar roles were slow starters - Gilbee nearly got traded early on and Shaw was traded and both have blossomed in that role. Deledio would be better but I reckon we need him more elsewhere.

First point is spot on, we have been shithouse ever since we lost the surgical precision of Leon Cameron.

Second point is again spot on. Have been saying this forever, we mix it when our A team is in, but our B and or C and D teams get smashed, especially when fronting up to opposition A teams. And it aint anything to do with winning the midfield, when the B team etc is rotated in, all it has to do is hold the fort, i.e. keep it at a status quo, or bonus win the midfield battle. But alas, once our A team is not there, we get absolutely smashed, one way traffic type stuff. ;)
True. Lack of midfield depth is and has been a problem for a long time.

But at least our A team isn't Kellaway, King and Sziller any more.;)

Please don't get rid of Terry until we give him an Brown a well deserved Flogging next week,

Please don't bother with punctuation and grammar if you are going to add capitals in the middle of a sentence.

In a perverted sort of a way, me and my mates are planning a night out next week and we are hoping next week is Terry's last game for the exact same reasons you are hoping he gives it away tomorrow night.:thumbsu:

One step back, 30 steps forward.

You'd think that if giving Wallace another year broke 30 years of shocking culture it would be a small price to pay.

I just worry that even if Wallace got one last get out of jail free card, he'd still play all the hacks he should have arsed in his first year as coach.

Just seen the interview he had after today’s training:eek:. How gaunt in the face does he look. Would be interesting to get a photo from the start of the year and compare them side by side. He looks terrible
The real reason Wallace is agreeing to step down - they showed him a picture of Tony Jeweel in his last year as coach and told Plough "3 more months of coaching the Tigers and this is what you'll look like!"
