Interested to hear the views of fellow AFL members. A mate of mine was 3rd in the que at his ticketek outlet and failed to get tickets. I have never heard of the tickets selling out this quick. We are talking about 1.15pm when he was told that were no tickets left in the afl reserve. Something doesn't smell right.

Doubt it. I was on the comp from 1pm and tickets didn't go on sale until 1.10pm. I picked them up straight away.

M56 Row DD Premium - Olympic Stand -270
Q57 Row K Prime - Olympic Stand - 235
Q31 Row W Standard - Standard - 161

I am in a position where I had to get two tickets together for my brother and his young daughter and 1 ticket for me (all adult tickets) , but based on our memberships that was how it turned out.
I am not a scalper and not trying to make any profit on these tickets but just wondering if there are a couple of people together (anything except standing) that perhaps wanted better seats and were prepared to swap and make up the difference. If anyone is interested drop me a PM. Ultimately if I can't I will have a couple of tickets at face value to sell of Friday.

Don't bother. If you mean Silver AFL member with Brisbane Support, then you won't be going to a GF for 10-15 years.

I began queuing at Newport at 0230 today, was 8th in the queue at that time. Last week, I queued at 0330 and was 6th.

But back to today.....First, Ticketek crashed until about 1307 because they needed to close out the MCC sales which finished at 1300 and transition back to AFL Members. I don't think tickets went on sale until about 7 minutes later.

The 4th guy in the queue was having his barcodes scanned only to be told there were no tickets left at about 1320.

I would have missed out but luckily the wifey at home got thru on the internet and sealed the deal -although she had some issues along the way.

Although I was lucky to obtain tickets thru this channel, I'm vehemently against online sales for GF tickets - at least for non-competing club AFL Members on Mondays (or Tuesday in this rare case).

I think if you're committed to the cause, you'll line up for you ticket if you want it bad enough.

1:10 open = All tickets, all sections available. Selected N, got 3 rows back...all good.

didn't want to use his ticket so just cancelled and then tried again. 1:20, all gone.

The clubs use those as corporate packages and sell them for $1500 a pop.

Those are not available to members like you or me.

Look on the bright side. Your club has the lowest membership count of any side in the AFL, so the odds of getting a ticket when the Lions do make the GF is pretty good. But you might be waiting a while......

Nervewracking day - my partner got Collingwood clubh support tickets in the queue first thing, then requeued for me so we had both online and in person options. Online was a nightmare of delays and timeouts, the queue was worse with hordes of MCC people everywhere as well as AFL members. Dog's breakfast under the AFL's "plan". After reading this story I'm even more relieved to have my ticket.
