Seemed to be what you were implying. Israel made a 'pre-emptive' strike into a foreign territory. That's not exactly de-escalation.

Hezbollah tried to launch 6000 rockets at Israel even though they are a 3rd party to the war. Israel took out their rocket launchers before they could. Hezbollah still managed to get 300 rockets off. Should Israel have let the attack proceed?

Stopping a massive attack by a 3rd party against Israel is absolutely de-escalation in every sense of the word.

I can absolutely guarantee with 1000% certainty if the US fired a barrage of 6000 rockets at Hezbollah you would be calling it genocide. It's amazing how your opinion changes depending on who is doing what.

Hezbollah said it carried out strikes towards Israel in response to the killing of top military commander Fu’ad Shukr last month in the southern suburbs of Beirut, a populous neighborhood that is also the Iran-backed group’s stronghold.

So Israel killed someone in Lebanon last month. Hardly coming out of nowhere.

So Israel assassinate someone in Beirut, killing 4 civilians and wounding 80 others. Then 'pre-emptively' strike Lebanon again with 100 fighter jets. And this is de-escalation, and a good thing?
