This is a Knesset member from Likud confirming the plan is being implemented in Gaza. A starvation campaign against civilians, women and children. An act of genocide. Reports are that no food nor a drop of water has been allowed into the besieged north Gaza since Oct 1st.
No, the plan he described is not genocide, but it would be a war crime. It is to reduce aid going in with the intent to motivate the civilian population to evacuate to safety. The idea and intent seems to be to separate civilians from combatants. Genocide would be to stop aid with the intent to kill a significant portion of the people in northern Gaza through starvation.

The plan sucks not only because it's surely a cruel war crime, but also as Hamas have been reported to be shooting at their own civilians to prevent them leaving, and even if they weren't, not all civilians can/will leave, so the proper amount of aid still must go in.

The rest of his post translates to him seeming to be having a meltdown on facebook because the plan is being opposed by humanitarian groups in Israel and not allowed by the supreme court. But the translation is shoddy so it's hard to make out exactly what he's on about. He sounds like a lunatic.

According to Times of Israel, aid trucks are going into Northern Gaza. It's hard to know what's happening. If thousands of Gazans start dying from starvation due to a deliberate reduction or cessation of AID by Israel, it's a sure way of destroying their western alliances. No war is popular, but no starvation campaign could ever be remotely justifiable.

Certainly has a reputation as a Hamas sympathiser:

I'm not surprised you quoted her.

You're back to the 'United Nations is Hamas' rhetoric I see. Parroting Netanyahu, Ben-Gvir etc.

So you are saying that she reports directly to the UN?
Yes. She is mandated by the UN, but her views don't necessarily reflect the views of the UN. They are her own independent views. It's incorrect to quote her work and say that is the view of the UN.

Do you think Israel should be held to account for the long list of UN resolutions that it has violated?

There are reems of statements of genocidal intent, from Israeli political and military leaders. Eiland himself said
“Gaza will become a place where no human being can exist.”

Steps taken as part of this plan are intentional acts. The natural, foreseeable and inevitable consequences of such a plan is the death of Gazan civilians, and creating the conditions for their destruction.

You, and they, can make any claim you like about their intent, but there can be no denying it's genocide.

It's hard to know what's happening.

A deliberate state of affairs.

And if that happens, there's a lot of people who ignored their responsibilities to prevent genocide.

You're quoting an Israeli funded anti-UN NGO.

Quote farming a general who had been retired for 20 years saying some unhinged stuff in the wake of October 7th as though it proves genocidal intent.

The war is playing out much like high tech wars play out in an urban environment. It doesn't look like a genocide at all, genocide is the most heinous crime, it's not just wars we don't like. War is a horrific horrible thing too, but there is a big difference between war and genocide.

If Israel starts deliberately starving the population and thousands of Gazans die from malnutrition, aid trucks are completely blocked, if Jabalia becomes a major deliberate killing ground of civilians where there is no difference between your chances to die if you are a civilian or a militant, I will agree that there is a genocide and Israel can go be a little pariah genocidal terrorist state on its own with no foreign allies.

It’s getting harder to distinguish between you and ZEV each day

Incorrect, yet again. Israel committing actual genocide.

If you consider a supposed developed nation committing genocide not worthy of conversation.
I am discussing it now with people who actually have things to contribute to it... ie not you.

I think Jazny needs to come to terms with the many years of apartheid, illegal occupation and ethnic cleansing before making the connection to genocide.
Why was Gaza occupied to the extent it was after the 2005 withdrawal? If you can give me a well thought-out and good faith answer to this, I would be shocked but also impressed.

Israel had finished building the wall, which effectively turned the refugee camps into the world's largest open-air prison.
