The ICC has also issued a warrant for Hamas leader Mohammed Deif, who Israel says they have killed.

According to the ICC, the chamber “found reasonable grounds to believe” that Deif was “responsible for the crimes against humanity of murder; extermination; torture; and rape and other form of sexual violence; as well as the war crimes of murder, cruel treatment, torture; taking hostages; outrages upon personal dignity; and rape and other form of sexual violence”.

It also said there were reasonable grounds to believe the crimes against humanity were “part of a widespread and systematic attack directed by Hamas and other armed groups against the civilian population of Israel”.

For Netanyahu and Gallant, who was replaced as defence minister earlier this month, the chamber “found reasonable grounds to believe” that they “each bear criminal responsibility for the following crimes as co-perpetrators for committing the acts jointly with others: the war crime of starvation as a method of warfare; and the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts”.

It also found reasonable grounds to believe that “each bear criminal responsibility as civilian superiors for the war crime of intentionally directing an attack against the civilian population”.

Yeh I thought you already knew the answer when you asked the question.
Yes, of course I did, but I couldn't know that you understand this - hence I wondered if that's the scenario that you believed might lead to Israel being "destroyed". Did you mean a Russian or Chinese attack? Pakistan? How do you think Israel could feasibly be destroyed?

In other words attempted murder is ok - just as long as the attempt isn't successful.

They (Iran) thought a multi-pronged attack would accomplish this - Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthi, Islamic Jihad, other groups, and themselves, all attacking and overwhelming Israel. Not sure why they thought this would succeed but there you have it. Other countries are not going to get sucked into Iran's vendetta, they have enough going on in their own spheres. What would be the point? Isn't co-existence better for everyone?

Are we ready to call this ethnic cleansing now?

Never underestimate the desire of Hamas & proxies to acquire offensive weapons. They have a whole network dedicated to this stuff.

If only Hamas had the same dedication to improving the lives of Gazan citizens and invested accordingly.

Egypt has also had big problems with them. This early 2015.

An Egyptian court has listed the Palestinian group Hamas as a terrorist organisation, accusing it of supporting an insurgency in northern Sinai.

The ruling comes a month after a different court labelled the armed wing of Hamas as a terrorist group.

The court ruling on Saturday effectively bans Hamas within Egypt, a wider verdict that January's censure of its armed wing.

"It has been proven without any doubt that the movement has committed acts of sabotage, assassinations and the killing of innocent civilians and members of the armed forces and police in Egypt," Judge Mohamed el-Sayed said, according to state news agency Mena.

The vast majority of those are Gaza based attacks. West Bank has pursued the political path, with a few loonies on the side. There's a real danger now that the loonies will cement support and take control in that region as well, as the people tire of Israeli land theft. But yes, terrorism from both sides needs to stop. 2023 was particularly bad for terrorist activity from Israelis int he West Bank.

There isn't trouble between the authority and competing factions on the West Bank now because of land theft. They all know big changes are being made across the ME, power will be lost and power will be gained. They want to make themselves known.

Now might be a good time for the authority on the West Bank to ask for help from Israel, who should give it to them if they ask. Build some bridges.

Oh, IDF spokesman said something. It must be true!
It's dishonest not to mention it if he knew that was at the bottom of the article. You don't have to believe it just like you don't have to believe that the removal of the civilian population is permanent, but it's at least pretty good evidence that the IDF is not intending or has no formal plans to make the removal permanent. Of course they could just be lying, nobody can know for sure, but it's a little bit unlikely to be an outright lie, not impossible.

Given the danger to the civilian population of fighting in that area, a temporary removal sounds like it would be justified under the Geneva convention, a permanent removal would be a really obvious war crime and I would be very against it no matter how they tried to justify it.

Another day, another illegal settlement supported by The IDF

Further investigation:

IDF are actively dispersing & removing extremist settlers from Lebanese territory. Not that you bothered to investigate and get the full story.

The IDF claimed they wern't even there, then photos and videos got released so then they 'removed' them.

I am sure you knew that though, getting the full story and all.

Official death toll (acknowledging it is almost certainly significantly higher) has now exceeded 45,000. I've refrained from calling it genocide up until now but that's just under 2% of the population

Israeli air strikes on northern Gaza kill at least 30, Palestinian medics say

Israel's bombardment of northern Gaza has continued overnight as air strikes continued to hit what it claims are Hamas targets. Palestinian medics said an Israeli air strike killed at least 10 people in a house in the northern town of Beit Lahiya while six were killed in separate air strikes in Gaza City, Nuseirat camp in central areas, and Rafah near the border with Egypt. In Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip, medics said four people were killed in an air strike on a house. There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military.

Later on Wednesday, medics said that an Israeli strike on a house in Jabalia killed at least 10 people, Reuters reported. Israeli forces have operated in the towns of Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahiya as well as the nearby Jabalia camp since October, in a campaign the military said aimed to prevent Hamas militants from regrouping. Palestinians accuse Israel of carrying out acts of "ethnic cleansing" to depopulate the northern edge of the enclave to create a buffer zone, Reuters report. Israel denies this.

Here's one for the head in sand brigade to ignore and downplay

The IDF Spokesman responded: We are the most moral army on Earth, we do everything we can to minimise civilian harm. These incidents did not occur, and if they did they were in accordance with international law/to destroy the enemy/to protect civilians/against our IDF code. They will be investigated internally.
