I bet if he came out in support of Tredrea you wouldn't give a *.
A player should not be endorsing any board candidate.

Not sure if Burton is also dating 16 year old Halle Tredrea though.

Burton is trying to be the next Troy Chaplin. Cant wait for him to do all the promo for the next Showdown then play like shite

What an absolute collision in the mind for me.

On one hand, Burton drives me crazy. He seems to be laconic and prone to doing the easy things, the poster child of doing enough, in football but he has one of the sweetest boots at the club and is a strong 191cm. When he's free and running off half back, he is just as lethal as Houston in that regard.

On the other hand, he's going out with a club legend's daughter and he is handful of games away from from father son status.

It wasn't the best to comment on the election, bad form, but it is a small blip on the radar. And yes, admin who are missing at sea most of the time or at least Jordy Hinkley in IT should have had a quiet word.

Geez all this fuss about a comment from Burton. Was it in answer to a question?

No. He knowingly and willingly shared Abernethy's pitch to members on his social media platforms.

Innocent, as he's just trying to help out a (almost) family member, but pretty naive as well.

Can't ever recall a Scott Pendlebury or Luke Hodge getting involved in board room politics and endorsing a candidate at Collingwood or Hawthorn, two clubs who's board room dramas resembles a soap opera seemingly every other year (and they win flags by the way).

I reckon Koch would probably already have conceded defeat, but would be hopeful having Aber there will minimise the margin, and (from his perspective) avoid a complete blow-out.

Im also thinking that perhaps Aber doesn't even expect/want to win, but has instead nominated to minimise the chance of a potentially popular (Cassisi?) nominee puting their hand up, but who has no desire to rock the boat.

The happy-clappers I meant.

He's a point of difference to Tredrea, whereas Aber is similar to WT but arguably nowhere near as appealing to the disgruntled.

I get what you're saying, but Cassisi would be the least popular candidate even if he was running unopposed.

Dom was on the football committee who recommended a contract extension for a Senior Coach in his 11th year without any success before finals commenced. This is not a person I want involved in any capacity at the club.

If the admin were better at this, they would have let Tredrea run unopposed. That way there is no proxy referendum on members' confidence in them and reputation is managed. In short, if you are going to have WGT on the board, it's better to do it without losing the vote.

People annoyed at Burto's support of Abba but silent last week when Boulton, James etc were openly supportive of Tredrea says everything.
Might have something to do with Burton, a current player (who happens to be dating Abba daughter) whereas the others are retired.

lol. In what ******* world would Cassisi be a popular vote?

‘If you think the AFL is far too hard and find you yearn for the club to be more and more like Fremantle and South Adelaide, vote for me!’
