Geelong isn't currently in a position to host cricket - we've got the Matilda's vs Chinese Taipei match on the 7th Dec

Guessing they'll be busy from the 8th to prepare for the BBL clash between the Gades & Hurricanes on the 19th

I read that article, surprised the Stars have only made 1 Finals in their history . (10 seasons all up).

The franchise is jinxed men and womens.

I remember that final - I feel like the Stars were the favorites until the mid point of that match

They had a damn strong team that season, Lanning as captain & they'd been such a dominant team chasing throughout the season (and Lanning having some ridiculously high average in chases) but for whatever reason after winning the toss/fluorescent flip decided that they'd try and set a target by batting first

Post match when talking about that decision, Lanning said they wanted to try and put the Thunder off their game - that was the most random thing I've heard, because no matter the match, but especially a final, you play to your strengths & as soon as you go away from that it plays straight into the oppositions hand


But crazy to think that's the only time they've played finals

Night game - the first & second finals are night games, the big final on Sunday is a day game

I expected CA to be all-in on night games. I guess if they were holding the final on a Saturday (and it wasn't clashing with the AFLW grand final) then maybe they would have?

I doubt they would have had it on the Saturday night if there was no AFLW Grand Final. WBBL still have a Qualifier on the Friday night. Would have been too little a break to go from Brisbane on a Friday to Melbourne on a Saturday. Sunday night would have been prime time viewing.

Yeah Possibly.

Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday for the Eliminator/Qualifier/Grand Final would have been ideal.

Instead we get: Wednesday Night/Friday Night/Sunday Day match.

Day matches dont appeal as much if your trying to get global eyes as much. Twilight possibly would have been better.

Drummoyne has generally looked harder to bat on as the tournament has gone on.

Scores of: 171, 138, 121, 108 is testament to that for sides batting first.

Its part of the parcel I feel with playing on 'suburban' wickets , curators have less time to prepare the wicket as they do for the first game of the summer.

We won’t because we suck with the bat. If Lichfield doesn’t get 40+ we are no hope. Georgia Adams has to be the worst import I’ve seen
