Far from a major Nic fan, but thats a pretty fair statement.
Even if he never played in the ruck again, you could realistically stick him in the goal square and he'd likely kick 50+ for the year....

This is a crap thread.

1st off west coast were unlucky. They got 16 wins and got 6th spot. Any other year , they would be top 4. Hell back in 1994, eagles got 16 wins to get a flag from top spot.

Their backline is fine. I for one am not a fan of priddis but I rather 3-4 mids higher than him. I rather gaff, shuey and Hurn higher than him.

Its weird as Nic Nat did his knee then Lycett got injured too. 4 weeks ago they had 4 ruckmen available. Now they might get another ruckman in the draft.

Forward line is one of the best if everyone is fit and firing. Kennedy can kick 80 goals, Darling 40-50. Nic nat when fit can kick 20-30 goals too. They need to strike while the iron is hot meaning their beat chance to win a flag is with kennesy still playing.

They have some small forwards than can and have kicked 30-40 goals a year in hill, jetta and lecras.

They will make finals next year not sure which apot they will take.

Perhaps the team also did - they just did not turn up to play last night. Quite amazing considering it was an elimination final. A bit like Richmond last year when they faced North in the EF.

Huh? Both Elims last year were cracking affairs decided in the last minutes.
This year, not so much.

As much as I've enjoyed LeCras over the years and he still bagged 20, 30 odd goals this season, I think it is time to make the decision. Clearly past his best, fails to fire in finals, and pushing 30.

Then there is the general lack of grit among the squad at large, with the heavy lifting often left to too few (the regular performers). Someone needs to be sacrificed as trade bait in order to replenish the best 22, we need those who give 110% and never pre-empt but rather just grab the ball.

Priddis is still decent and deserves to stay in the middle. Whilst finally well past his peak, his tackling and handball display against the bulldogs was notable amidst a sea of underperforming teammates. We need more like him, not less.

Simpson also has a 45-1-25 record at the Eagles, and got us to a GF, so he deserves more time yet.

Yes...honest wise words.

Let's not forget Le Cra came into the senior squad straight outta Claremont and you can thank the footy gods you got as much as you did. But the time has come ...

What the hell happened to Yeo? He used to be pretty good.

I'm not really sure what they're trying to do with him. He was pretty good last year, clunking his marks and finding a bit of it, but he was getting so much midfield time. Our starting combo was Priddis/Shuey/Yeo. This year he rarely seems to play there, just seems to be some vague half forward kind of role. I think they're clearly not using him properly because he cannot seem to get involved at all this year.
