About time we had a thread to let the world know we love the bloke. He tells it like it is, bleeds for he club and players, and does a pretty bloody good job I recon. For that, you get to be my avatar for the week (what more could a fella ask for ey?!)

He gives interesting interviews and will quite often have a chuckle at his own expense. For the piss weak journo's to throw it back in his face is just pathetic.

I am a massive Clarko fan. He doesn't take shit from anyone and you always know what his thoughts are. He is a coach that has shown in the last 2 seasons that he is willing to give young guys a go. He is also always looking for tactical advantages and pushing the boundarys when it comes to game play. He is the mastermind behind precision ball movement and now we see teams like NM and the Tiges trying similar tactics. As soon as they do we up and change again. I always happy to have Clarko in charge of our coaching box, even if the walls are a little worried

Great thread and we need more of it. Have never doubted him. He has contributed to us reclaiming our powerhouse status. We went through lots of coaches after our golden era. None had the impact he has had in elevating us and maintaining our position in the game on every level. He is staunchly loyal to us and has turned down massive offers to leave.

Anyone not happy just take a look at Neeld. Mr photogenic.

I must admit, back when the Hawks were looking for a new coach and Clarko's name came up I was like Mmmm, I don't know about this.
Looking back, I couldn't be happier that we got him to our club.
He calls a spade a spade and certainly isn't afraid to speak his mind.
Given the amount of crap that get's thrown at all the coaches from the media & journos, I think for the most part they are all pretty restrained. I'm sure they are all wanting to say what's really on their mind with some of the dumbass questions they are asked.
Anyway, love ya Clarko and I for one hope you stick around for a few more years yet...

Of course we screwed up hugely back in the early 90s when we sacked Alan Joyce, but this is the man who got us back on track after 10 years in the wilderness

I have a huge admiration and respect for Clarko, knows how to get the best out of his players. I can definitely see multiple premierships coming up with him at the helm, and I doubt we'll finish bottom 4 again under him. The bloke coaches for his team and not his career, and I'm so thankful that we managed to find him.

And I agree with the comment that said NM and Richmond are following our model, I noticed it too!

I remember the Channel 10 sports segment with Steve Quartermain ( hawk fan ), he seemed shocked we had appointed him!
One of the best decisions we've made in a long while
Love the passion and loyalty he shows Hawthorn, great stuff!

Totally agree with your sentiments.

I love the fact that Clarko is totally focused on what's best for Hawthron and takes no crap from anyone. Clarko is an innovator and is always striving for any competitive advantage.

All going well, Clarko will overtake Allan Jeans next year and get to number two on the matches coached, a huge achievement.

Thompson was setting Clarko up with a lot of stupid questions designed to get a reaction. Clarko didn't get upset, almost robbing him of manufacturing a headline. Seriously, what sort of f***ing tool tries to manufacture a headline? Okay, most journos do. Well, the gutter trash ones.

For some reason he seemed to jump on the confirmation he really is a ********. Well congratulations, you tool, status confirmed. A couple of morons have jumped on the 'angry little coach' moniker, journos and opposition coaches alike, but not to the effect you were hoping for. Love him. Should no go. Not only is he a top coach with passion, who else is available that even comes close. He turned down a 6 year big money contract from Melbourne so we have to stand him. Since he started only 1 year have we not improved on the previous year (09)

If he gets us another flag he will definitely be up there with the legendary coaches of our club, and even if he doesn't he is still going to be one of the best we've had, especially considering where we were as a football side when he first came to the club.

I've had moments where I've doubted the man, but Clarko has indeed gained much man-love from me... the little outbursts and angry man style also makes me love him even more. Love his honesty and passion. I hope we can secure him for a few more years.
