It really is I mean fine give these failing teams help to be be competitive with the other clubs looking for a coach but don't penalise the teams actually doing things well. No hand out club should be able to come in and completely outbid clubs in a better financial position. Same goes for Port probably having one of the most expensive fitness coaches in the league. Where's the incentive for clubs to do well on their own, and how long do you give it before you realise it's not sustainable.
As for Geelong, I have no problem with them playing a final at home in theory, I mean its probably a bit unfair if they had finished first and a MCG based team finishes 4th. But don't say that Fremantle are the only team who can possibly be disadvantaged by it. Especially when the second best ground in the league is sitting empty all weekend.
Geelong should play all their home games at Simonds Stadium if it's their home ground to such an important extent that this final should be played there.. Ah, they don't want to because they want to get bigger crowds when they play Collingwood etc..
This is a final, plenty of Freo fans will want to go over or attend if they live in Victoria.. Oh, the crowd numbers and money not so important now it's a final that they want to win and know this will be a huge advantage for them.. Especially after Freo smashed them at the MCG last year in the finals.. More laughable crap in this competition..
Same way Hawthorn, St Kilda and Geelong have all rested large numbers of players before finals in the past.. Freo do it, Vlad says he has integrity issues with it..
