We should make a play for Koschitzke

It's still fair to say he has done plenty more than hartlett and edwards which is the point I'm trying to make.
Point noted, but Kosi is four years older than Harts (whos first two years were delayed by injury) and six years older than Edwards.

St. Kilda dumped Cain Ackland a couple of years back. Why would they even consider taking him back after aquiring King?
Small point. Saints did not dump Ackland, they actually wanted to re-sign him and were a little miffed he left for more money.

Boy, didn't we teach those Saints a thing or too ....

i just yearn for the day when trade talk can be discussed in a real-world context.

I dont want Kosi but Hartlett/Edwards + 3rd round pick .... pfft!

His name tags make him the known player he is, but the two tags that he does hold (#1 draftee and Rising Star) occured in the time frame of one year. Since his debut season, what has he done? Very little.

Again, this is just to put an offer forward, something to be considered if anything.

I'm not the first to say it and I won't be the last....you talk utter shit.

Firstly, Kosi went at pick 2, not 1.

Secondly, since his debut, he has been an entirely servicable player. A couple of things go against him, in that he has missed the best part of two years with injury, and he has obviously struggled to settle in one position, but he kicks goals, takes marks, and always draws a quality defender...and he's a tough bastard to boot.

Don't know how you could even contemplate comparing him to Hartlett or Edwards. The mere suggestion is laughable.

Every club in the competition would offer more than a third rounder and a nothing bit player to secure his services...St Kilda would quite rightly want and get a mid to late first round pick if they offered him up.

It's amazing how one average season can turn everyone's opinion of him right around.

There was a time where he was playing at his peak (2 seasons ago?) and was one of the best going around in the competition.

Injuries have hampered his output at the current moment, but you'd be crazy not to sus him out if he was on the table.

Yeah, that sounds around the mark.

They won't be trading him unless they get some value back for him in return, otherwise it's just not worth it to them. After having an injury free season in 2008, could easily have a very solid pre season and come out all guns firing next year.

Personally if i was St Kilda i wouldn't be trading him.

If Saddo goes this guy could give kooley & his mates someone to abuse wiwo. No other value - no better than the people we have eligible for this role already.
Has my favourite player been delisted yet?

I'm starting to get worried he has signed a new contract after his stellar game against the Kangaroos.

Kosi is basically a naturally gifted athlete who demonstrates beautiful skills every now and then.

His downside is that he's made from equal parts chalk and glass, and is mentally weak - as evidenced time and again in situations such as the first quarter on saturday night when he (took a beautiful contested mark and then) hit the post from 25-30 metres out straight in front.

There's no point in our club picking up 50/50 type players from here on - we should only be looking at snaring the sorts of players that would get a game in any side in the comp.

The General's description of Kosi as a poor man's Kreuzer is spot on.

I hear the Cats are looking at him as their All Australian defenders couldn't contain Hale, yet Saddo all by himself was able to limit the damage. :)

most posters say we will get nother for hartlett edwards ra ra ra because they have shown nothing , well kosi fits right into that category. so in theory we should offer bassed on potential.

EBIAC propoposed offer is right on the mark hartlett edwards + thirdrounder.

Why don't you suggest it to the St Kilda supporters on the Saints board if its so very fair?

How long do you think it would take for their mods to give you a red card for trolling their board?

Honestly, I think the Saints will be looking at shipping him off during trade week, and although Cam Cloke had been holding down CHF pretty well for the last few weeks of our season, to have a guy with the ammount of potential Kosi has in a young, developing club, I've got a good feeling he could... Not come good, as I don't actually believe he's a bad player, but show his stripes. It happens with a lot of young blokes - they move clubs and have standout careers. That would be nice! :)

We've got a few players who could be off-loaded during Trade week, and I believe that we've got more than enough to secure him.

My proposed trade would be something along the lines of this:

Carlton get:
Justin Koschitzke

St. Kilda get:
Adam Hartlett/Jake Edwards
Third round Draft Pick

Thoughts? Not necissarily on the proposed trade, but in general?

:thumbsu:
If you can get Kosi and only give away those 2 and a 3rd rounder then go for it, your talents are wasted on BF if you can deliver on that.

Yes they could consider me a troll, and card me, but that wont answer any questions?

What has koschitzke done, to be worth anymore?.

 I think you are in deamland if you think that the Aints will trade Kosinski for anything less than a 1st round pick - which he is not worth on his current performance. We wiil be better off with a good 1st round pick and concentrating on getting Warnock. We have put a lot of time into Harlett and, if he can get his body right, then I think he can become a good player.

Kosi is not worth what we would have to give up.

i would love kosi at our club
2nd tall to fev
but there is buckleys chance he is coming for so cheap
im afraid it would probably involve pick 6
but what about
pick 6 to saints
for kosi and dal santo
and if they want fisher he could be negotiated into the deal as well

What would a 26 year old ruckman/KPP who can play either in defense or as a forward?

In a normal draft he'd be worth a late top 10 pick at the very least.

-Sigh-

We may as well put in an offer rather than let it pass and have no chance.

You've gotta' be in it to win it. We might as well have a punt. Who knows? Crazier things have happened. AND, we've got other names to throw around. Let's just see what we can see.

Not everyone has to agree. :thumbsu:

Exactly, start low and work our way up, but not to high up.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think Kosi is overrated, clumsy and somewhat useless. Was crap against the Hawks the othernight. Surely we can do better than him. Falls down, drops marks too easily.

I hope we don't waste our time on him! I honestly think he is the MOST overrated player in the AFL, i don't see why there's s so much hype on that *******! SO so so very clumsy!
But in saying that EBIAC if that trade was proposed i would do it hahaha but nothing else!

Funny thing about this discussion, is the short memory of some of our supporters. If you cast your mind back to our game against the Sainters, he was the difference in the end between us winning and losing. Yes he has limitations but if he didn't we would be looking at trading our first draft pick instead of pick 24 or thereabouts.

Instead we are setting our sights on a Freo player who has yet to win a game for his club, has played very few games in his three year career, apart from tap outs offers us nothing in other parts of the ground, whereas I can see Kosi playing KPP down forward or back.
