Watchign video of Greening he wouldn't look out of place in today's game. He was special.
Agree, he'd be even better than he was in the '70s - best modern player that I would liken him to is Chris Judd, but stronger overhead and a better kick - wonderfully balanced player with sublime skills. He kicked 6 goals one day playing in the centre!

Such a tragedy that he was cut down in his prime - a very good reason to hate St Kilda, even though they've been largely irrelevant for 50+ years.

As an 18 year old, playing his 19th game, he kicked 7.2 as a ruck-rover at Princes Park against Carlton, who were the reigning Premiers.

Haha! This kid was picked up at pick 56... Let's all maybe cool down a little bit. The prior 55 players must be absolute guns, if we pick up Greening v2 at 56.

I guess we got Lizard Blakey v2 at 46, and Wayne Carey v2 at 48, so it does appear to be a great draft pool...
This happens every year with new draftees, let people get excited 😆

Indeed Junior! That cesspit of a club would wallow in filth forever if I had any control over things. I was there the day Greening nearly died; I will never forget it. Nor will I forget the weasel words and blame shifting from the St.Kilda leadership, including its coach Allan Jeans. The thug who king-hit Greening, received only 10 weeks and continued to play for years.

Long may St.Schoolgirl remain a VFL/AFL laughing stock. When they do inevitably rise up the ladder, I look forward to Collingwood, once again nailing down the coffin lid, as we did so beautifully in 2010.

I’m jumping on the Hayes bandwagon - for no better reason than I like the look of him.

Head says as a low draft pick he’s statistically unlikely to make it.

Heart says he looks like a goer, a kid who’ll have a dip, with some nice skills.

I hope we see him in the seniors at some stage in 25.

I remember years ago, seeing a poster on Nicks say he was there that day. He’s Still Lankan and he immediately put a Sri Lankan curse on the club. It’s clearly been effective so far 😂

I agree. Jeans had form with defending his thugs.
