Cal Twomey said similar things in his article today - interesting aspect is WCE thought about trading up to 15 but seemingly the player they wanted wasn’t there… clearly didn’t like Johnson

West Coast are the new Freo. Overpaid for Kelly, as good as he is. Then passed up on the best WA player in the draft to pick up a Vic that's played f-all footy for two years.

True, plus you skipped over picking the delisted-for-nothing Brander (which is why they missed Kelly) at their first pick in the first place.

We have won a few draft nights, but you need good development, gameplan to succeed at AFL.
The work has only begun, but it appears this group is driven and has plenty to prove.
The hunger at WC is waning, and a boys club has been allowed.
I don’t see Simpson lasting a decade, and his success was built on Woosha’s foundation.
The WA boys will thank their lucky stars to be here than Dads Army. Getting snubbed will only make Johnson a better player.

Our development and game plan seems totally suitable, it's availability that we need now!

Can't agree about the success being built on Woosha's foundation. They were as bad as I had ever seen them except for maybe their first few years in the competition. The foundation may have been built on getting high draft picks from lack of success not Woosha imo.

They were 13th in 2013, Woosha’s gameplan was old, but he could train, develop players.
Simpson basically changed the style, the foundation was there.
Played finals in 2011, 2012.
From 2014 onwards they just topped up in the draft, trades to what Adam wanted.
I believe he is like Ross and won’t be around for the rebuild.
As evidenced by their draft, trades this year and not retiring the
Veterans. Reality is the window is bolted shut.

So It Begins Helms Deep GIF

Bugger...foot fractures are a nightmare. Been there had that. Can take a looong time to mend and messes up calves knees and hips in the process. Age is on his side though. At 18 he should rubber man back into shape better than I did at 32.

I'm no physio so could be horribly wrong but I'd think hydrotherapy and weightless based training using non-gravity type machines are used for sports stars these days.

Us regular blokes don't have the time, money or resources to utilise those things which is why both you and I have struggled from an injury that now has long-term effects.
TL;DR: MJ will still win the 2023 Brownlow

I also understand he is lightning quick, which neither of Cez or Mundy can claim.
Not sure where you read that? One of the knocks on him is his speed. Not that he is slow but because he plays more outside than other mid options I think ideally he'd be much quicker. More than makes up for it with his disposal imo.
